Chapter 268: The Possible Truth of the World
A black-bladed mantis insect, resembling a praying mantis, raised its exoskeletal blade-like arm, aiming at a tiger beetle gnawing on a sand ant nearby.
Just as its hind legs bent, gathering strength for a pounce, it suddenly startled like a frightened gerbil, frantically digging into the yellow sand and burrowing beneath. The sand trembled slightly, and soon after, a massive convoy roared past, shaking the dunes and sending fine grains rolling.
The trailing nets behind the vehicles kicked up clouds of dust, sweeping up the desert creatures hiding in the sand—black-bladed mantis insects, tiger beetles, scorpions—hauling them all away in one go. Only the sand ants, barely larger than grains of sand, tumbled violently in the nets, lucky enough to slip through the gaps with the falling grains.
