Chapter 120
"Alright, we'll lure him for a day. If he still hasn't taken the bait by then, we'll lead him to the Abyss Cave."
They seemed to have reached a consensus, and one by one, they dispersed.
Time passed slowly, with people continuously bringing food and placing it before Qin Han, while countless pairs of eyes secretly watched him.
At night, a young woman disguised as a human even came to strike up a conversation with Qin Han.
But he ignored them all.
Early the next morning, Qin Han sensed many people approaching him.
He opened his eyes to see an elderly merman with white hair and beard, leading the group he had met the day before.
"Child, were you looking for me?"
Qin Han: "Yes. I want the Golden Spirit Crystal."
The old man hesitated. "This item is a legacy of my people and has never been shown to outsiders. However, since you killed Xiao Hei, eliminating a threat and saving us..."
"Very well. It’s not of much use to us anyway. If you wish to have it, child, I’ll give it to you."
"Then I thank you, elder."
"It’s nothing." The elder waved his hand, dismissing the others, and led Qin Han out of the village.
Once again, they stepped into the endless waters.
This time, it took a full hour before the two finally arrived at the base of a submerged mountain.
There, at the bottom, stood a massive iron door made entirely of dark brown metal, appearing incredibly sturdy.
The door had no gaps, sealing the interior completely.
The elder took out a key and struggled to push the heavy door open.
A deep, dark cave was revealed, its end impossible to see from the entrance.
"Child, this is the ancestral land of my people. The item is inside."
"Come, I’ll take you down."
Beside him, Qin Han responded, "No need."
The elder was puzzled. "Wh—why?"
"Don’t you want to go in?"
As soon as the elder finished speaking, he was met with a blade as swift as lightning.
Thud!
The sharp edge of the Moonlight Shadow, combined with Qin Han’s terrifying attack power, instantly triggered a decapitation effect.
The elder’s head rolled to the ground.
But the next second, a ferocious, transparent Spirit flew out of the corpse.
The elder’s face twisted in horror.
"Who are you?! Did you already know our identities?"
Qin Han’s voice turned icy. "Who I am is none of your concern. All you need to know is that you’re about to die."
He had waited a long time for this moment.
Although the guide mentioned the location of the Golden Spirit Crystal, the underwater world was vast, and without navigation, finding this place on his own would have been nearly impossible.
All the effort spent playing along was just to make them lead him here.
"Soul Control Art!"
Boom!
The High Priest! Treant, Clay Golem, Centaur, and other Boss Souls made their grand entrance once more!
They scrambled to pounce on the elder.
In the end, the High Priest proved superior, devouring the elder in one gulp and relishing the feast.
"Wait here. Eat anyone who comes. Guard the entrance—not even a single water bear is allowed inside!"
These Spirits, devoid of bodies, retained only their instincts and couldn’t understand human speech.
Seeing this,
Qin Han had no choice but to summon Nightmare and relay his orders to it. To his surprise, Nightmare proved to be quite intelligent—its eyes flashed with a red light as it nodded slightly with its horse head. Then, it kicked one of the Spirits hard with its hoof and muttered a string of incomprehensible words, as if reprimanding them. Strangely enough, the other Spirits actually obeyed, lining up obediently at the cave entrance like loyal dogs, appearing utterly docile. Nightmare itself took position right in the middle of the entrance, lifting its head proudly as it awaited praise.
Qin Han pocketed the elder's key and patted Nightmare's head before entering the cave. "Gotta admit, you're quite the versatile one," he said. "No question about it—when we get out, I'll treat you to ten kilograms of sweet potato wine. No, wait, beef!"
Nightmare's face lit up with joy, and it eagerly rubbed its head against Qin Han's shoulder.
"I'll be back soon!" Qin Han gave Nightmare another pat on the head before stepping inside.
