Chapter 57: Killing the Supernatural and Crushing the Heart, Death Disco

"As a doctor, your appearance isn’t my concern. To me, you’re just a patient."

"You’re sick, I treat you. It’s that simple."

Even as his body was gripped like a figurine by the deformed hand, Ji Yan’s expression remained somber, his tone eerily calm.

The Supernatural Patient had long grown tired of such dismissive rhetoric. She sneered, "Every doctor spouts the same nonsense. If you were forced into this grotesque state, you’d break faster than anyone."

"I am sick—every inch of me is diseased."

"So tell me, doctor, can you restore my delicate skin and slender figure?"

"You can’t. You’re all just quacks who talk big but deliver nothing!"

The monstrous female patient dragged her mountainous, tumor-riddled body forward, her face—melting from drug reactions—looming inches from Ji Yan’s, malice dripping from every pore.

Yet, to everyone’s shock, Ji Yan nodded. "I can."

Not only the Ox and Rabbit Players, but even the Supernatural Patient froze.

"What?"

Ji Yan repeated calmly, "I said I can."

"Fine! If you fail, I’ll drain every ounce of fat from your body to patch my rotting skin!"

Whether out of desperate hope or merely an excuse to flay Ji Yan alive, the Supernatural Patient released him.

The Ox Player, his body covered in hideous pustules, glared darkly at Ji Yan and muttered, "Wasting time."

"Early death, late death—still just death."

Ji Yan’s medical kit was the lowest-grade intern’s set, containing only a handful of surgical tools and basic anesthetics.

Reshaping that grotesque mountain of fat and tumors back into a slender, elegant figure?

Was that even possible?

The Rabbit Player stepped back, already satisfied with her mission rewards and ready to exit the ward. Yet, an inexplicable curiosity kept her watching. How would Ji Yan escape the tiger’s mouth this time?

She assumed his promise was just a stalling tactic. But what came after the stall?

No one knew what Ji Yan was thinking.

He opened his medical kit, fiddled theatrically for a while, then pulled out a scalpel.

"I’ll start with a minor procedure."

The Supernatural Patient sneered, "Do whatever you want. I only care about results."

Nodding, Ji Yan pressed the scalpel to her lower abdomen and made an incision.

But the flimsy blade barely pierced the flesh before the pus within corroded it into metallic sludge...

"Doctor, you can’t even wield a proper scalpel, and you dare operate on me?"

The Supernatural Patient’s eyes gleamed with mockery.

Ji Yan stared at the corroded handle, sighing faintly. "No matter. If the scalpel’s gone, I’ll just switch tools."

Tossing it aside, he flicked his wrist—and a delicate Silver Needle appeared.

It was the very same [Silver Needle] rewarded by the Grandmother in the previous Instance.

With a pinch and a flick, the needle—thin as a chopstick—tore open a gaping wound in an instant!

The skin split, and a torrent of accumulated fat gushed out, not a drop of blood in sight. Ji Yan watched silently.

"And then? What’s next?"

The Supernatural Patient stared intently at Ji Yan, no longer mocking but with a chilling gaze.

Ji Yan remained silent for a moment before shaking his head. "This is a psychological illness."

"No matter how your body changes, you’ll never be satisfied."

Hearing this, the Supernatural Patient showed no surprise. She immediately seized Ji Yan’s body, her voice shrill. "After all that talk, you’re just like those quacks!"

"Either calling it a psychological illness or spouting sweet lies to placate me—the same ugly human nature, unchanged for millennia!"

Even as she held him in her grasp, Ji Yan’s expression remained calm as still water. "Then let me change my approach."

"Right now, you’re not even a monster—just a complete freak."

"To keep the one you loved, you forced yourself to alter your body into his ideal, fixing every flaw, swallowing all kinds of drugs. And in the end? Not only did you fail to keep him, but you turned into a revolting old hag that everyone despises."

"In this day and age, I’ve seen plenty of clowns—but Harley Quinn? That’s a first!"

Ji Yan’s tone suddenly shifted.

Faced with a life-threatening situation, unlike the Ox Player and Rabbit Player, who desperately tried to soothe the patient with sweet words, he did the exact opposite.

His words were like sharp blades, ruthlessly tearing open old scars!

The other two players thought they had misheard.

Their eyes widened like quail eggs.

Had this guy accepted his doom and decided to go out with one last verbal jab?

"Is this kid insane? Does he think the daytime protection rules will stop the patient from killing him?"

A truly broken, Blackened patient wouldn’t care about any protection rules. At worst, violating hospital rules would only earn her a minor Punishment.

"You… what did you just say?"

Sure enough, the Supernatural Patient’s expression first froze before twisting into something monstrous under the influence of Blackening.

She didn’t know how Ji Yan had learned about her past.

But right now, the overwhelming urge to kill made her too furious to care.

Even as he felt the crushing pressure on his body, Ji Yan continued his relentless verbal assault. "Did you really think keeping the man you loved close meant there was still a chance?"

"Pumping yourself full of fillers, caking on makeup to hide the rot from the drugs, all while praying some miracle doctor would one day turn you back to how you were?"

"Give it up."

"That’s never happening. This body will haunt you forever. You’ll never escape the labels—‘monster,’ ‘ugly,’ ‘disgusting’—"

"SHUT UP!!"

"SHUT UP! I’ll chew you to pieces, you—"

The Supernatural Patient shrieked, but instead of tearing Ji Yan apart, she clutched her melting face and wailed in utter collapse.

Freed from her grip, Ji Yan didn’t flee. Instead, he stepped closer.

His words kept firing mercilessly, each sentence ripping open wounds, each one striking at her very soul!

The Ox Player and Rabbit Player were completely dumbfounded.

Wait, why was he still piling on the humiliation?!

"No, stop talking!"

"I said STOP! I don’t want to hear it!"

The Supernatural Patient clawed at her ears, trying to block out everything, but it was futile.

With her psychological defenses shattered, her emotions surged to their breaking point.

"He actually managed to escape the tiger's mouth this way?" The Rabbit Player had never seen a player break a Supernatural Entity's defense by berating it before.

"What’s the damn point? Don’t forget, our original mission was to calm the patient’s emotions."

"This guy instead made the patient collapse and worsened their condition. Even if the patient doesn’t kill him, once the mission fails, that Supernatural Doctor with the ram’s head will definitely finish him off!"

The Supernatural Doctor absolutely cannot tolerate his interns making mistakes.

With Ji Yan pulling this stunt, he’ll probably piss it off so much its mouth will twist in rage.

It’ll inevitably devour Ji Yan and raise a new one.

The Rabbit Player fell silent.

She couldn’t shake the feeling that Ji Yan must have considered this.

Yet he didn’t run—he just kept humiliating and attacking the patient. What was his real purpose?
