Chapter 60: Mental Treatment, Served by Female Supernatural Entities
Chapter 60: Mental Treatment, Served by Female Supernatural Entities
After examining the Lies Parchment, Ji Yan turned his attention to another Supernatural Artifact—the Other Shore Scalpel.
This scalpel had a handle made of goatskin, crafted with fine precision. However, what baffled Ji Yan was that the blade wasn’t sharpened.
A scalpel without an edge?
Wasn’t that just like a gun without bullets—nothing more than a blunt tool?
Only after checking the artifact’s detailed description did Ji Yan understand why it lacked an edge. This was a blade that did not kill. As for what purpose a non-lethal scalpel could serve…
Naturally, it belonged in a place like a hospital, where lives were saved.
After briefly inspecting the upgraded medical kit and the Grease Perfume, Ji Yan closed the Toolbar panel.
Unexpectedly, Liu Yan, the patient, had also triggered a reward.
But her gift felt particularly troublesome in Ji Yan’s eyes.
It carried the weight of a token of affection—accepting it would only entangle him further.
After dinner, Ji Yan’s Mental State had recovered significantly.
As the wall clock neared nightfall, he removed his white coat, now stained with disgusting Impurity, and prepared to take a proper bath before resting.
The coat hung over the chair.
The sound of running water echoed from the bathroom.
The drain was clogged with tangled hair and what appeared to be a patch of scalp left behind by the previous occupant…
Like most people, when Ji Yan washed his hair, the suds stung his eyes, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was watching him from behind. A pair of pitch-black hands materialized out of nowhere, slowly reaching for the back of his head.
But the Supernatural Doctor had stated that Supernatural Entities were forbidden from entering Player rooms—the seventh rule of the hospital.
So Ji Yan dismissed the creeping psychological fear.
After washing his hair, he began scrubbing away the Impurity clinging to his body. As luck would have it, the soap slipped from his hand and slid into a corner…
Ji Yan’s lips twitched.
Something about this scene felt…
He bent down to pick it up, the sensation of someone behind him growing stronger.
And then, in the next instant, a scent hit his nose. He whirled around—only to find a grotesque face, its skin peeling like crumbling cement, already lurking in the corner. A pair of rotting hands stretched toward his lower half…
It grinned at him. "Doctor, I—"
Before it could finish, a sharp Hammer smashed into its face.
The impact cracked its skull, splattering thick blood.
The entity clutched its head, howling in pain, while Ji Yan’s expression darkened.
He hadn’t expected the clichéd "dropped soap" scenario to play out in the Supernatural Game of all places!
Weren’t Supernatural Entities forbidden from entering Player rooms?
As Ji Yan raised the Hammer for a second strike, the entity frantically waved its hands in surrender. "Doctor! I—I wasn’t trying to hurt you! I wouldn’t dare! I just saw the soap fall and wanted to help pick it up!"
"How did you get in here?"
"I’ve always been in the bathroom. My body is embedded in the wall—I can’t go anywhere else."
"An Original Resident?" Ji Yan’s brow arched.
"Yes, yes! My job is to Serve every doctor who stays here."
"Serve? By picking up soap?"
Ji Yan found the idea absurd, but the bathroom entity quickly explained, "Of course not! I’m here to assist you with bathing…"
Before he could finish speaking, Ji Yan stepped out of the bathroom. Being watched by a Supernatural Entity while bathing made it impossible for anyone to continue.
Just as he emerged, Ji Yan felt an unusual sensation in his body. He noticed dark, coarse fur sprouting on the back of his hands, his skin turning rough. When he touched his face, he found it covered in black hair as well, and a sharp pain throbbed above his forehead. Turning to the mirror, he saw his reflection slowly transforming into the head of a Supernatural Goat!
"What’s happening?"
"I ate dinner, didn’t I? Did that Supernatural Doctor really not prepare any Mental Drugs for me?"
Ji Yan watched as he gradually turned into a "Supernatural Goat." He had no idea what would happen once the infection fully took hold, but an overwhelming sense of dread told him nothing good would come of it.
He tried to reach for the medical kit, but his last shred of consciousness slipped away, plunging him into complete unconsciousness.
"This is bad..."
After collapsing, Ji Yan lay motionless on the floor. Soon, the entire room grew "lively." The walls writhed as eerie Cement-Covered Entity faces emerged from them, the bedsheets oozed blood, and shadowy figures of Supernatural Entities appeared from all directions.
They seemed to have spotted the perfect prey, inching closer to Ji Yan’s prone form on the floor...
......
"Ugh..."
An unknown amount of time later, Ji Yan gradually woke up. His heavy eyelids lifted slowly, his entire body itching inexplicably. When he opened his eyes, he found himself lying on the bed, the blanket slightly bulging.
Feeling something slimy caressing his lower body, Ji Yan jolted awake and yanked the blanket aside—only to see a Female Supernatural Entity with half her face rotted away, grinning at him from beneath the covers. "You’re awake!"
And she wasn’t alone.
Dozens of Female Supernatural Entities’ faces crowded under the blanket, pressing against his lower half...
Horrified, Ji Yan flung the blanket off and immediately swung his Hammer at them.
But it wasn’t just the blanket—the sheets, the pillow, even the nightstand were all hiding Supernatural Entities!
"Doctor Goat, we didn’t harm you. We found you infected and unconscious, so we put you on the bed to treat you," the panicked Supernatural Entities explained.
Only then did Ji Yan realize the infection on his body had faded.
Staring at these Original Resident Supernatural Entities of Room 444, it suddenly dawned on him.
These Supernatural Entities were the so-called Mental Drugs!
No wonder the Talent panel mentioned Room 444 was unusually lively—aside from him, there was an entire room of Supernatural Entities keeping him company...
"Doctor Goat, there’s still a bit of infection left on your lower body. Just lie down, close your eyes, and we’ll take care of it," said the Female Supernatural Entity whose eyes had been gouged out, her voice laced with resentment and grievance. She had taken a hammer blow to the head, leaving a dent in her skull, yet she remained deferential.
She seemed terrified Ji Yan might refuse treatment. "Please lie down, Doctor. We’ll be quick."
"That’s right, this is our Mission. If we don’t do it properly, the Medical Instructor will Punish us."
"Just close your eyes. It won’t be uncomfortable—in fact, it might even feel relaxing, like stress relief..."
Ji Yan: "..."
Wait, why did this sound increasingly dubious?
Still, Ji Yan accepted the final treatment. These Female Supernatural Entities meant no harm, and if the Supernatural Doctor saw any remaining infection, there’d definitely be trouble.
Lying back, he closed his eyes and let the Female Supernatural Entities "purge" the Impurity.
About five minutes later, the treatment ended.
To be honest, there was an inexplicable sense of relief. The pressure wasn’t as heavy anymore...
"Thank you, thank you. Our treatment is now complete."
"The treatment took a bit longer because the doctor’s bath therapy in the bathroom was cut too short..."
Clearly, that Soap Supernatural Entity in the bathroom was also part of the treatment, but Ji Yan had run away midway, interrupting the process.
Seeing these supernatural entities thanking him profusely despite being the ones who had treated him made Ji Yan feel somewhat embarrassed.
"Are you all afraid of my Medical Instructor?" Ji Yan asked.
"If we fail to properly treat your infection, we’ll lose our value."
"In this hospital, whether it’s the Medical Staff or the patients, once someone loses their value, they’re sent to the morgue..."
Halfway through her words, the Female Supernatural Entity quickly shut her mouth, not daring to continue.
It seemed that place was a terrifying taboo—so much so that even mentioning it was forbidden...
These Female Supernatural Entities wore tattered medical uniforms.
They were the lowest-ranking workers, a reflection of their pitiful status.
"Goat Doctor, we won’t disturb your rest any longer."
"Sleep well. We won’t make any noise that might affect you."
One by one, the Female Supernatural Entities retreated to their hiding spots—some slipping back into the walls, others crawling under the bed, and a few hiding inside the closet...
Ji Yan didn’t want them to leave so soon. It was obvious these worker NPCs held many secrets about the Instance. Further interaction might yield useful information.
But before Ji Yan could speak, a crisp knock suddenly came from the door.
Then, a chilling, hoarse voice slowly seeped in from outside:
"Excuse me... is anyone in there?"
After examining the Lies Parchment, Ji Yan turned his attention to another Supernatural Artifact—the Other Shore Scalpel.
