Chapter 79: Internal Organs, Eager to Help

"The patient's body?"

Both the Rabbit Player and the Monkey Player stared at Ji Yan with strange expressions.

"Ridiculous, right?"

"That hospital room door is actually an open mouth."

"This Supernatural Patient can only seek treatment this way, so what we need to find isn’t the patient herself, but the Disease Source causing her discomfort."

Ji Yan turned his head, scanning the five small rooms with a firm tone.

"That Disease Source is definitely hiding in one of these five rooms."

"I thought I was abstract enough, but you’ve outdone me," the Monkey Player muttered, still clinging to his own theory. Having survived nine days in the Consultation Building, every Mission so far had been a world created by the patient.

Find the patient, and the Disease Source would reveal itself through interaction.

Seeing no point in further debate, the Monkey Player turned away to search the other four rooms.

The Rabbit Player was about to speak when he noticed the cobblestone path beneath his feet suddenly seeping blood. Thick plasma rapidly stained large patches of the cobblestones.

"Why is the road bleeding?" The Rabbit Player startled.

Ji Yan’s expression darkened as if he understood. He abruptly asked, "Was the room you came from leaking?"

The Rabbit Player recalled. "Yes, it soaked my clothes."

Ji Yan advised, "Listen to me. Forget about the patient or the Disease Source for now. Fix that leak first."

With that, Ji Yan returned to his own red room.

"I’m a doctor, not a construction worker…" The Rabbit Player grumbled but still headed back to his cyan room.

Back in the red room, Ji Yan quickly located the leak—a crack in the ceiling that was spreading outward. At this rate, the roof would collapse within two hours.

After a moment of thought, he retrieved the medical kit, taking out a Suture Needle, Suture Thread, and Needle Holder.

If this world was the patient’s body, then these cracks were wounds. So…

Ji Yan began stitching. Miraculously, the torn edges closed under the needle, and the gushing water stopped.

"Success!"

He stepped back. Though the wound was sutured, the cracks continued spreading across the ceiling. This was only a temporary fix.

To save these collapsing rooms, they still needed to find the Disease Source…

Exiting the red room, Ji Yan noticed not only the five cobblestone paths but even the asphalt of the main road was now oozing blood.

Just then, the Monkey Player approached, dragging a Supernatural Creature the size of a hound. He tossed it at Ji Yan’s feet like a trophy.

"Here’s a Disease Source I took care of."

Wiping his Scalpel, the Monkey Player wore a smug expression.

Ji Yan glanced at it and said flatly, "You think a Supernatural Creature this weak could be the Disease Source?"

"This is nothing more than a minor germ—a sneeze from the patient would wipe it out."

Ji Yan's words made the Monkey Player's lips twitch slightly.

"No matter what, at least I helped deal with some filth for the patient. What did you do?"

Ji Yan: "I fixed the roof, solved the leaking issue."

"What, are you a doctor or a part-time construction worker? You had time to fix the roof?"

"I already told you, this place is a ward crafted by the Supernatural Patient herself. We're inside the ward right now!" The Monkey Player felt like he was explaining basic logic to a block of wood.

Ji Yan glanced at the blue hut the Monkey Player had emerged from and said, "Are we inside the ward... or inside the patient's body?"

"We'll have our answer soon."

Monkey Player: "What do you mean?"

Ji Yan pointed at the cyan hut covered in cracks at one corner: "Your house is about to collapse."

Almost as soon as Ji Yan finished speaking, a corner of the blue hut crumbled with a loud boom, kicking up a cloud of dust.

At the same time, the Monkey Player suddenly felt a numbing weakness in his waist.

He half-knelt, his face turning sallow, cold sweat pouring down as he gagged a few times before vomiting a large amount of waste.

The Rabbit Player happened to witness this scene upon emerging.

"What's wrong with him?"

Ji Yan crouched down and poked the Monkey Player's skin, which looked like he'd lost half his life. The poke left a visible dent.

"Kidney failure. Blood coagulation dysfunction has failed."

The Monkey Player lay weakly on the ground, his sickly yellow face covered in red bumps of varying sizes: "The hell? I'm not the patient, why would my kidneys fail?"

Ji Yan curled his lip: "I’m genuinely curious how you became an [Attending Doctor] and survived this long."

"Still can’t see it? Why are there exactly five houses here? Six pathways?"

"If this is inside the patient’s body, what do you think that represents?"

At this, even the Rabbit Player and the Monkey Player, dense as they were, caught on.

"...Internal Organs?"

Ji Yan clapped his hands: "The five huts represent the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys. The six pathways stand for the stomach, gallbladder, small intestine, large intestine, bladder, and triple burner."

"That Supernatural Patient 'swallowed' us, pulling us into her body. To force us to treat her, she tied the huts we emerged from to our lives."

Ji Yan shifted his gaze, scanning the red, blue, and cyan huts.

"If I’m not mistaken, if the red hut collapses completely, I’ll die of heart failure."

"If the cyan hut collapses, Bunny Girl, you’ll die of lung failure."

"As for you, Yellow-Skinned Monkey, you’ve already gotten a head start on the experience."

The Rabbit Player snapped irritably: "Could you at least consult someone before giving them nicknames?"

Ji Yan turned to see the six pathways oozing blood and shook his head: "The situation isn’t looking good."

"The Disease Source must’ve noticed we’re here. It’s accelerating the destruction of the patient’s internal organs."

Rabbit Player: "But where is it hiding?"

"My rabbit ears haven’t relaxed once. That probably means the Disease Source is everywhere!"

Before Ji Yan could respond, the Monkey Player, lying on the ground with kidney failure, struggled to speak first: "Rabbit... do me a favor."

The Rabbit Player glanced at his wretched, ugly face. "What, you want me to save you?"

"Sorry, my medical kit only treats Supernatural Entities, not humans."

The Monkey Player's face was now a sickly yellow, his skin covered in lesions. He struggled to speak: "Not to heal me..."

"To kill me."

"Got a scalpel? Stab me in the heart. It's too damn painful—just end it quickly!"

The Rabbit Player was stunned.

After surviving for so many days, was he really giving up over a single Mission mishap? His mental resilience was pitifully weak.

Ji Yan crouched down with a smirk. "Why not ask me for help?"

"Requests like yours? I’m more than happy to oblige."

"After all, last night you stabbed me in the back. I’ve been meaning to return the favor!"

The Monkey Player’s face darkened, but before he could speak, Ji Yan’s scalpel was already raised.

The next second, it plunged deep into his heart—blood sprayed out in a violent arc...
