Chapter 27: Gaming Domination
Xia Jin noticed the movement and swiftly grabbed a skewer, taking a bite before saying, "You're really sneaky, aren't you?"
Cheng Hanwen, after finishing his food, focused on grilling chicken wings. Xia Jin picked up a corn cob to roast and declared, "After this, let’s go another round—1v1!"
Cheng Hanwen shot him a glance. "No challenge, no interest."
"You’re playing whether you like it or not, or I’ll post your ugly photos online!" Xia Jin threatened.
"Our fans just had a feud the other day—yours accused me of riding your coattails. If you post my bad pics now, they’ll probably start another war," Cheng Hanwen replied calmly, continuing to grill his wings with dedication.
Xia Jin finally backed off and glanced at An Wen. "Hey, little girl, I heard you’re still in high school. How old are you?"
Cheng Hanwen’s lips twitched at the condescending tone.
"Fifteen," An Wen answered.
"Ever played Honor of Kings?" Xia Jin tilted his head and winked at her with his right eye.
An Wen: "..." Weren’t the rumors about him being a cold, aloof heartthrob? Why was he acting so familiar and winking nonstop—was he trying to flirt?
"You look like the good-girl type, so I bet you haven’t. How about I teach you?" Xia Jin offered, winking again.
An Wen: "..." Am I hallucinating? What’s with this idiot and his constant winking?
Seeing her dazed expression, Xia Jin thought to himself: This silly girl—I’m offering to teach her, and she’s just staring at me blankly. Maybe she’s stunned by my looks. Being this handsome is such a burden!
Unable to endure the winking any longer, An Wen pulled out her phone. "I don’t even have the game downloaded."
"No problem, use the café’s Wi-Fi. It’s super fast," Xia Jin said.
An Wen downloaded Honor of Kings, installed it, registered, logged in, and unlocked her first hero—Arthur.
Xia Jin switched to a smurf account to play with her. Cheng Hanwen turned his face away, unable to bear watching.

Having lost to Cheng Hanwen earlier, Xia Jin sought satisfaction by dominating a noob. He patiently explained the skills and map awareness to An Wen before starting the 1v1.
Cheng Hanwen muttered beside them, "You monster."
Xia Jin chuckled and strode out from the base. For two straight matches, An Wen was utterly crushed. After each loss, Xia Jin would take a bite of his skewer and console her, "You’ve got to lose before you can win. Everyone sucks at first. Let’s go again—you’re improving!"
But starting from the third match, the tables turned—An Wen began dominating Xia Jin. Winning once could be luck, but three or four consecutive stomps? Something was off!
"You know how to play!" Xia Jin felt cheated.
"Yeah, did I say I didn’t?" An Wen lifted her head, her jade-like face breaking into an innocent, sweet smile.
"You said you didn’t have the game downloaded!" Xia Jin fumed.
"And I really did just download it," An Wen replied.
"HAHAHAHA—" Cheng Hanwen burst out laughing, and the other actors at the table who’d witnessed the whole thing joined in.
Xia Jin had hoped to salvage some pride, but now he was even more humiliated.
An Wen’s relentless beating shut Xia Jin up about playing games again, and he quietly returned to grilling meat.
This is a fantasy drama, and the crew has a heavy workload in post-production, so filming must proceed as quickly as possible. Since they have to start work early the next morning, no one dares to drink too much alcohol, and later on, they only drink cola.
Xia Jin, acting familiar, chats with An Wen, while Cheng Hanwen joins in the conversation. Back and forth, the atmosphere becomes quite pleasant.
