Chapter 81: Heading to the Old House
An Wen cut the cake but barely had a few bites before Xia Jin and Cheng Hanwen started smearing cake on each other. Ye Xiaoxing, with her meticulously done makeup, quickly backed away but still ended up with cream on her face.
After Xia Jin slapped a plate of cake onto An Wen’s face, she unleashed her full chaotic energy.
The four of them in the private room went wild, smearing cake on anyone nearby, leaving the place in complete disarray.
By the time their managers arrived to pick them up, the four had turned into snowmen. On their way to the restroom to clean up, they somehow started another brawl in the hallway.

Song Jia was furious. "Drive!" she snapped at the driver.
An Wen, reeking of cream, was wiping her hair with a tissue when her phone rang.
It was Chu Qichen calling.
"Mr. Chu, what is it?" An Wen asked.
"An Wen, I’m at the villa. Come back now," Chu Qichen’s deep voice sounded in her ear.
Go back? How could she face him in this state? The thought of his stern gaze made her skin crawl.
"I still have work today, so I won’t be coming back," An Wen replied.
"I’ll take care of your leave. It’s your birthday today, and your grandfather is waiting at the old house to celebrate with you," Chu Qichen said.
Let him handle her leave? An Wen wasn’t that stupid.
"Grandfather is waiting? Fine, I’ll come back right away. I’ll handle my own leave—no need to trouble you, Mr. Chu," An Wen said before hanging up.
She went to a hotel to shower and change before having the driver take her to the villa.
The moment she stepped inside, she felt the oppressive atmosphere. Liu Ayi was sweeping quietly, not daring to make a sound. On the sofa, Chu Qichen, legs crossed, was watching financial news and glanced over when he heard her enter.
Her long, straight hair framed her bare-faced, flawless complexion. Dressed in a white, waist-cinching dress that made her look as slender as a willow branch, her peach-blossom eyes glistened as she looked at him.
An Wen changed her shoes and sat on a sofa far from Chu Qichen.
"Mr. Chu, let’s leave after this news segment. We shouldn’t keep Grandfather waiting too long," An Wen said, leaning back on the sofa and pulling out her phone to play with.
She thought she was being considerate and well-behaved.
Chu Qichen usually despised tardiness, and having waited so long, he had been simmering with anger. But the moment he saw her, his irritation inexplicably vanished.
He watched An Wen, small and fair, engrossed in her phone. Though she occasionally acted out, she was undeniably adorable.
No wonder An Quan treasured his little sister so much—even Chu Qichen couldn’t help but feel a surge of protectiveness.
For a moment, he even wished he had a younger sister of his own.
"Let’s go," Chu Qichen said, standing up. He slipped on his suit jacket at the entrance and changed his shoes.
An Wen followed him to the car, her small bag slung over her shoulder. The driver reversed and headed toward the old house.
The entire ride, An Wen kept her head down, scrolling through her phone. She didn’t know what to say to Chu Qichen—after her outburst last time, she wasn’t sure if he was still upset.
"Staring at your phone too much is bad for your eyes," Chu Qichen remarked.
Hearing this, An Wen put her phone away.
Glancing at Chu Qichen, An Wen secretly rolled her eyes, playfully mimicked slitting her throat, then stuck out her tongue pretending to be dead.
Teasing him was quite fun, yet Chu Qichen remained as composed as ever.
An Wen turned to lie on her side and gazed out the window.
Witnessing An Wen's antics just now, Chu Qichen unconsciously curled a faint smile at the corner of his lips.
So adorable.
