Chapter 24: Resolution

The Teaching Director looked at her with confusion.

"This matter originally involved me being reported, so it's only natural for the school to investigate. How could I possibly ask you to apologize? Those were just angry words I blurted out yesterday in the heat of the moment!" An Wen said softly, adopting the demeanor of a quiet, well-mannered girl.

The Teaching Director's expression softened considerably. Just as he forced a smile and was about to speak, An Wen continued, "You said you’d keep it confidential, but somehow, rumors about me cheating have been spreading all over the school since yesterday. Some students have even confronted me directly, saying someone who cheated doesn’t deserve to stay in the Rocket Class. This has caused me a lot of harm."

After hearing this, the Teaching Director glanced at the other teachers in the office. None of them had leaked the information, and they all shook their heads in denial.

"Alright, I’ll definitely investigate this thoroughly and clear your name," the Teaching Director said.

"Director, even when I go to the cafeteria now, people point and whisper. By the time you finish investigating, I’ll already be driven mad," An Wen replied.

The Teaching Director’s expression shifted several times before he finally said, "Fine! I’ll address this matter during the morning assembly tomorrow."

"Thank you, Director. But there’s one more thing," An Wen said with a faint smile, her tone gentle. "I’d like to request leave."

The entire office of teachers looked at her in bewilderment.

"How long?" the Teaching Director asked.

"The damage these past few days has been too much for me. I cry in bed every night. Director, I’d like to take leave until the day before finals," An Wen said, lowering her head slightly and sniffling, putting on a pitiful act.

The Teaching Director and the other teachers: The real damage was done to us! Our hearts are still pounding from the scare!

"Taking leave for that long is out of the question," the Teaching Director said firmly.

An Wen looked up, her peach-blossom eyes brimming with tears. She whispered, "If you won’t approve it, then I might as well transfer schools."

Transfer? There was no way they could let such a promising student go to another school. Flustered, the Director said, "Why jump to such extremes? Can’t we talk this through properly?"

"Then... have you agreed?" An Wen asked softly, like a helpless little creature.

"Fine, your leave is approved! You must be exhausted after all this. Rest well at home," the Teaching Director said with a forced smile.

After An Wen left with her backpack, the Teaching Director slumped back into his chair. He and the other teachers stared at An Wen’s exam paper, speechless.

672 points—a score high enough to get into top universities like Tsinghua!

This student... was terrifying!

The next day, after the morning exercises, the principal took the stage to speak. He discussed exam discipline, praised several high-achieving students from the senior Rocket Class, and then mentioned An Wen.

He described her as a model student with both moral integrity and academic excellence, but noted that false rumors had recently been spread to slander her. The school had decided to launch an investigation and hoped all students would cooperate.

Zeng Xiuman texted An Wen about it while she was having breakfast, vividly describing Shi Jing’s priceless reaction.

With the school matter resolved, An Wen could finally focus on joining the film crew. Since her character’s appearance was scheduled later in the production, her delayed entry didn’t cause any issues.

The film crew hired the renowned Cheng Wei'en to be her acting coach. An Wen didn't dare show too much of her abilities, pretending to progress from clueless to enlightened while rapidly improving her acting skills. Watching her daily progress, Cheng Wei'en found her exceptionally talented and said, "After your college entrance exams, come to the Imperial City Film Academy. I'll take you as my closed-door disciple."

An Wen merely smiled without responding. The teachers at the film academy were truly different—she had already learned much from Cheng Wei'en.
