Chapter 58: Reunion with Xia Jin

This episode featured three guests: herself, Xia Jin, and the rising star Tang Ting.

As soon as she stepped off the plane, she coincidentally ran into Xia Jin at the airport. He happily jogged over and said, "Little An, what a coincidence!"

Both of them were wearing hats and masks. Fortunately, Xia Jin's schedule was kept confidential, or else his fans would have swarmed the airport and trapped her there.

"Get in the car. We'll talk on the phone," An Wen said before quickly boarding her vehicle.

Xia Jin called her as soon as he got into his car. "Little An, it's been so long since we last met, and you're treating me so coldly!"

"Big brother, do you not understand your own status? If I chat with you in a crowded airport and get spotted, we’ll be mobbed," An Wen replied.

"I think you just want to get to the hotel early to rest," Xia Jin grumbled.

"How did you get so smart?" An Wen teased.

"You’ve broken my heart. I was so excited to see you that I couldn’t sleep last night, and yet you’re still this cold and heartless, Little An..."

Xia Jin kept rambling, and An Wen couldn’t take it anymore, hanging up on him.

After resting at the hotel overnight, she woke up a little past 6 the next morning, changed clothes, and headed to the filming location.

In Xia Jin’s car, his manager warned him, "You have to keep your distance from An Wen, understand?"

Xia Jin found it amusing. "You think An Wen would try to ride on my popularity?"

The manager smirked coldly. "Every time you two meet, you turn into a complete goofball. I’m afraid you’ll scare your fans."

Xia Jin couldn’t even argue, so he half-heartedly replied, "Well... I’ll consider it when the time comes!"

But the moment he arrived at the filming site and saw that both he and An Wen were wearing blue, he immediately brightened up and ran over to her. "Little An, this is great! We’re on the same team!"

Everyone was shocked by his cheerful demeanor. Was this really Xia Jin? The famously aloof and cold beauty?

An Wen also sensed something was off and whispered to him, "Big brother, do you even care about your idol image anymore?"

The moment she said that, Xia Jin instantly switched back to his composed demeanor. When he smiled, he looked like a warm, cheerful boy, but when he wasn’t smiling, his cold handsomeness kept people at a distance—the contrast was striking.

"Little An, you and I are the same kind of person. One day, your fox tail will show," Xia Jin murmured.

"We are not the same," An Wen retorted.

Just then, Tang Ting arrived. As a rising star, he politely greeted Xia Jin.

"Hello, Senior Xia."

"Hello," the two shook hands amicably.

Xia Jin also joined in, shaking hands with Tang Ting. The regular cast members had arrived earliest, expressing excitement and welcome as each guest appeared. Soon, Xia Jin noticed that everyone was wearing the same color.

Once all the guests had arrived, filming began, and the production team handed out their mission cards.

To promote Ding Qian Kun, the theme was set as the Black Cloud Clan and the Xuanyuan Clan. Their mission cards revealed their identities and tasks.

An Wen’s card stated that she was part of the Black Cloud Clan. Her mission was to find two other Black Cloud Clan members, rip off the name tags on the backs of the Xuanyuan Clan members to eliminate them, and survive until the end. The way to identify fellow clan members was by shaking hands three times.

Today was a free-for-all battle. The last surviving team would win, and the chosen location was the B University Library.

It was the first time that a conflict erupted between the newcomers and the guests without any prior warning.

As the team leader, He Jie suggested everyone shake hands. Amid the chaos, An Wen took the opportunity to shake hands with each member—twice for everyone. However, when it came to the regular guest He Jie, she shook his hand three times. An Wen looked up at him, and he blinked in response.
