2391 - Value
"...Eat."
*Hoooooom*
"What—?!" Sakaar lunged to his feet and took two steps back *Bam* combat readiness took over his body.
What the Master had brought out was something small enough to hold with both hands, but from it emanated a powerful scent that covered the sky and the earth. The smell wasn't unpleasant so much as it was strong, deterring, and awe-inspiring—the scent of an old hungry lion searching for anything that moves to pounce on.
Whatever was in the Master's hands, it seemed like a dangerous weapon capable of destroying the planet at any moment—and destroying him along with it!
Compared to the confidence he had arrived with, the power he had reached, feeling this pressure and danger again was anything but pleasant!
"Stop using your nose, Sakaar." Robin advised, "Use only your spiritual sense."
"...?" Sakaar immediately closed his nostrils, and he was struck with total blindness. The aura that covered the sky and the earth like a sheet also disappeared, and what his spiritual sense picked up was far simpler than that... it was an arm.
"Alright, I won't drag out your questions. This is the arm of something called the Executioner. The Executioner is the being that controls all space beasts, including adult space beasts." Robin then pointed the arm toward him, "That being, you might also know it by the name Space Beasts Ancestor."
".....?" Sakaar turned toward the arm again, quickly, "The Arm of the Space Beasts Ancestor... the Ancestor who wrought havoc upon the Universe all those years ago?" Then he turned his face back to Robin, "Did the great Elder give it to you?"
"No." Robin raised his head slightly, "I severed it myself."
"............"
"What?" Robin smiled, "Don't you believe me?"
"Nothing about your entire life is believable, My Lord." Sakaar turned back to look at the arm, "One more unbelievable detail won't change much."
"Haha, I'll accept that answer for now." Robin tossed the arm toward Sakaar, "Now, eat."
*Thud* Sakaar caught the arm with reverence, then began examining it immediately.
Of course, he didn't try using his nose again—he had tried once and that was enough. This time, he used his claws to test the arm's hardness, searching for the optimal spot to sink his fangs into.
But—
"..?" Sakaar turned to Robin again, "How am I supposed to eat this?"
Robin shrugged, "Am I to teach the Teacher now? Act."
"....." Sakaar turned back to examine the arm in confusion, then lifted it slightly and aimed the severed elbow portion toward his mouth—though it was still harder than metals, it remained the part carrying the largest amount of flesh.
Then, "Haaah—" Sakaar opened a part of the mask to reveal his mouth full of sharp teeth, then *chomp* he bit down on the arm.
*Screech*
As if trying to bite through iron, Sakaar's teeth began scraping against the arm's surface, and no matter how hard he tried to sink them in, it was useless.
"Graaah!!" Sakaar activated Blood Devouring, and a massive amount of compressed crimson blood burst from his body, wrapping around the arm and attempting to digest it on the spot—with this technique, he could normally dissolve a small goat without even opening his mouth.
But there was no effect whatsoever—
When Sakaar found that this too was futile, he decided to start using the—
*Gulp*
At that moment, Sakaar felt something slide down his throat from the elbow.
Something heavy filled his throat and descended slowly, as if he had swallowed a rock from the depths of hell.
*Thump-thump*
Sakaar's three hearts beat violently, then clenched and fell silent.
*Thud* The arm dropped to the ground, and the crimson blood on it withdrew and retreated. Sakaar himself began staggering backward, clutching his chest tightly and making strange sounds, "Ughh... cough...!!" Like a man who swallowed a stone lodged mid-throat that refuses to go down or come up.
Then, with another step, he collapsed to the ground, his body smoking heavily and convulsing as if being roasted from the inside.
Then he went still—
His body completely stopped moving, and he ceased making any sound—only the smoking intensified, and his body temperature rose gradually and noticeably.
"..." Robin stared at Sakaar's body for a few moments, then scratched his head. "He'll be fine." Then quietly, he stood and seated Sakaar back in his chair.
Afterward, he returned to his own seat and chuckled...
The sight of Jabba and Sakaar sitting side by side, mouths agape and unconscious, was undoubtedly amusing.
Then he opened Jabba's book to read it once more...
If one took into account that all the ratios and evidence in the book were correct—since Jabba was a user of the Master Law of Identity and not merely a Truth Chosen—this changed a great deal.
This elevated the book's value to an unprecedented status.
In fact, it might make it the only one of its kind in The Universe in a certain regard!
Why?
Identity Users wield it like any other Master Law—for combat, construction, and domination—for the primary use of Identity is through altering the ratios and designations of a thing, just as Jabba did with the rock.
Changing an attack to be lethal instead of ordinary, changing little wealth into abundance, changing the identity of a pet into a legendary dragon.
Identity Users are terrifying, and dealing with them is extremely difficult, and capturing them is even harder—if they are not apprehended while weakened and restrained, they can never be subdued.
But they are also merely powerful Master Law users; they have nothing to do with research, science, and development!
For an Identity user to use their power in the service of research and writing books, like a Truth Chosen?
That has never been heard of before.
Who would possess Identity and be able to do all those brilliant things that could enrich them overnight, only to set it aside and write a book?
It would take someone like Jabba for such a thing to be possible!
That is the value of the book now in his hands!!
But that is certainly not its only value... the book is truly priceless.
Not just because of its author, but because of its content.
According to this book... the flaw that Robin seeks, humanity's problem, is an artificial issue that did not exist in the previous Cycle.
