Chapter 2259

2259 - Scene Reading

"..." In the face of Glacion's cutting words, Omis stared at him with an expressionless face, then turned and walked back to stand before his throne.

Then

Thump

He and Omira sat on their thrones at the same time.

Omira was the first to speak, "We are not as insignificant as you paint us, Glacion. We are the guardians of the Minor Disturbance Law, which branches from the Fundamental Path of Chaos. Any one of us can turn an entire sector upside down alone, and together, fighting shoulder to shoulder, even Lord Blokan, whose name you mentioned, cannot easily defeat us."

"..." Glacion furrowed his brows slightly, then waved his hand, "Forget it. I have done what I could, and the message has been delivered. Do as you please." He then turned to leave, intending to take Holak with him.

"Glacion."

But Omira's voice made him stop.

"...Did you see yourself in such a lowly light when you accepted submission to the Cradle Empire? When you humiliated yourself before the entire universe and broke your promise to the Sorcerer Behemoth? When everyone thought you were terrified and trembling in fear of Lord Hedrick, and that's why you raised the White Flag?"

Glacion stopped and turned back to look at Omira with slightly furrowed brows. Before he could deliver a harsh retort, he first studied her expression.

Omira did not give him a condescending look, nor did he seem to be trying to belittle him intentionally; rather, his expression was calm and his eyes focused... It seemed he truly wanted an answer?

Yet... his words were extremely harsh.

"Heh~" Glacion sighed softly, "Perhaps I am not as strong as you two, nor as wealthy as the Sorcerer Behemoth, or as sharp-witted as the Behemoth of Oppression, but if there is one thing I can praise myself for, it is reading the situation."

Then he continued, "...In that period when the conflict intensified between the Sorcerer Behemoth and the Grave Empire, and the Grave Empire began trying to secure its internal fronts through alliances and promises, they came to me just as they went to you. All they asked for was a non-aggression pact for a set period, and in return, they would give me trade alliances, privileges, and all those nice things."

"..." Omis and Omira listened attentively, for Aru had also come to them with similar threats and offers.

"...I was about to agree to those offers. I had no stake in what was happening and wanted no trouble with Lord Robin, who was already known to support them during that period, and whose relationship with the Cosmic Elder was well-known. But something changed my mind and made me choose to become a Wing... something they never even offered me."

"What is it?" asked Omira.

"The Spirit Legacy Array." Glacion spoke without hesitation.

"Hmm?" Omis furrowed his brows. "The array that converts Spirit Units in the air into emeralds? Hmm, it gained great popularity back then and remains one of the greatest innovations of the modern era. There are even farms for its users now... but what about it?"

"Its timing of release was strange," Glacion replied. "It came out during a period when the Shadow Swords were being persecuted, Mid Sector 101 was being destroyed, the Council of Thrones was striking down the Cosmic Academies project, and the Behemoths of Causality, Gravity, and Destruction had begun an unspoken hostility toward Lord Robin's interests."

"Yes?" they both asked simultaneously.

"That's all." Glacion showed a smile. "Lord Robin sent the manufacturing method of the Spirit Legacy Array to the Spirit Society for them to produce, and since then, everything has changed." He then continued, "The number of Shadow Swords increased, Marshal Aru struck down the Behemoth Zargul in his own den, the Six Guardians in Mid Sector 101 were fully healed and began executing special missions together, reviving the resistance. Additionally, a massive number of Cosmic Academies were established from scratch without needing the old ones."

“He says he sold the Spirit Legacy Array to solve his problems?” Omira asked in astonishment. “Was that enough to make you believe in him?”

“You still don’t understand…” Glacion shook his head. “All the problems were piling up, and suddenly he came out and gave the method to create a legendary array to another competing power like the Spirit Society, and everything was resolved.”

“Don’t you see what I see?!” Glacion took a step forward. “That person was likely in seclusion, and when he came out, he knew what was happening. So he picked something random from his projects, sent it to the Spirit Society, then went back to his research again and told his followers to handle the money!”

He raised his voice slightly. “You don’t understand! Everyone who chose the Syndicate’s side is a fool and an idiot, a bunch of shortsighted people!!” Then he waved emphatically. “Lord Robin doesn’t hide because he’s afraid; he doesn’t show himself because he’s not interested in what’s going on. Every soul-crushing crisis is solved by casting a random array—then it's straight back to his research. That person only cares about research and development!”

“…?!”

He raised his voice even louder, causing the two brothers to tremble. "Have the brains of all creatures stopped working? The Cosmic Elder appeared publicly and said that Lord Robin was the reason his life was saved. Who could possibly save the life of the Cosmic Elder, who shaped everything we know and established the system we follow? Does he need help? Do you think he needed a friend to chat with? That same Cosmic Elder lived through three Great Truth Choosers before him and was a personal friend of Azramid, yet they did nothing for him!"

Then he pointed toward Omis. "Open your minds, you herd of beasts. Whoever saves the Cosmic Elder is either someone of equal power, or someone who has reached a level of knowledge no one has ever attained before—someone with enough understanding to propel the universe a billion years forward, a true genius who renders the term meaningless before anything else!"

"Fools... utter fools and idiots!" Glacion shook his head. "You say I'm afraid of Lord Hedrick, and that's why I surrendered..." Then he raised his voice again. "Lord Hedrick himself surrendered and went as a mercenary to another sector just to kill someone who was bothering His Majesty the Lord, you brainless cows!!"
