2327 - The Anchor
“…The mission itself is the proof?” Kiryān wondered. “A mission to strike Brother Zavarus with Helmor is proof that Lord Robin is on the righteous side? …Perhaps you’d like to explain that point, Glacion.”
The mission Lord Robin revealed shows he is not an ally of Helmor, but it doesn’t make him any different from him in any way, nor does it make the All-seeing God any different from Helmor’s supporter!
“The secret lies in the goal,” Glacion explained. “True, the mission is heading toward an indirect battle between the Savage Galaxy and the Destroyer Galaxy, but what is the ultimate objective?” Then he looked at Zavarus and Kiryān. “Forgive me, but it’s certain the goal is not to destroy the Behemoth Helmor—you’ve both experienced the strength of his Second Tier sons, and a battle like that wouldn’t have ended with even a scratch.”
“….” Zavarus felt a deep insult, but he swallowed his rage. “What is the goal, then?”
“The goal is likely to display the power of the Destroyer Galaxy before everyone, even if it comes at the cost of destroying the Savage Galaxy.” Glacion furrowed his brows seriously. “The goal is to make the other Behemoths marvel at what they see, and the goal is to make the Cosmic Elder investigate what is happening… The goal is to expose what is going on there to everyone.”
“…?” Zavarus’s heart sank.
The All-seeing God was willing to sacrifice himself and his entire galaxy just to expose Helmor? Should he feel proud or insulted?!
Even Kiryān's expression darkened... That was too cruel!
Robin smiled and nodded, for Glacion had said more than he wanted, and in a better way.
Then Glacion continued: "Of course, you can still say that Lord All-seeing God remains strange, as strange as someone who supports Helmor the Destroyer, and that their goals are still hidden, but we have a foundation to hold onto." Then he raised a finger. "If you see the Cosmic Elder as a hero and a trustworthy person, then you must take the side of the All-seeing God, the side of Lord Robin. This is the Corner that gives weight to the entire matter, and on this basis, you will build your choices."
Then he narrowed his eyes. "The question is, do you trust the Cosmic Elder, or not?"
"Never." Zavarus replied decisively.
"If the Cosmic Elder is guilty, then none of us are useful, and if he is a traitor, then none of us are upright." Kiryān declared.
"Then we are done." Glacion gestured toward Robin with a big smile. "The intentions of the All-seeing God depend on the Cosmic Elder and clarifying the truths to him, and Lord Robin was helping that entity, therefore Lord Robin is on the good side!"
"..." Kiryān, Zavarus, and even Robin fell into a long silence.
A simple and straightforward logic, all based on the Cosmic Elder, yet there is no moral anchor in the universe deeper or more solid than this... He had made his point, and the matter was settled.
"Lord Robin." Zavarus turned his gaze back to the golden-haired young man. "You have chosen your companion well."
"Hmm, it seems so." Robin nodded a few times.
"But I want to clarify something before the conversation moves to another point..." Zavarus stared directly into Robin's eyes. "I dare not claim that I am on the side of good, for I do not know what those two entities want to do. However, I do know one thing... One of them supports Helmor, who wants to kill me, and the other supports you, and you have come to visit me as an honored guest."
Then he continued: "...I do not care what those two entities want, but I do not want to die as collateral damage. I reject the idea of being sacrificed for the greater good—that is absurd. To hell with the greater good, and as long as I will die regardless, I will simply fight everyone."
Robin nodded. "You're right." Then he waved his hand. "No need to worry, my primary mission is over and no longer stands. Your fight with Helmor is now off the table." Then he gestured to his side. "He has already exposed himself in the attack on the Oppression Galaxy. With a few nice recordings and testimonies from His Excellency the Behemoth here, that mission will be completed successfully."
"I've become collateral damage?!" Kiryān stood up, shouting.
"Hehe." Zavarus let out a laugh, then looked away to stifle it.
"Don't look at me like that." Robin smiled. "I had no hand in what happened to you. I have two completely different missions now, far removed from you."
Then he continued: "A lot has happened recently—things that made the Syndicate and the Council of Thrones move, made the Behemoths strike each other, made Helmor ignore the revelation of his true nature, and even made ordinary people turn into lone fighters seeking power… and of course, made the Cosmic Elder disappear, or ignore everyone. It's been a millennium full of events."
"Aren't you at the center of all this?!" Kiryān pointed at Robin. "So the All-seeing God's first mission has finally ended at your hands, and the difference is that I'm the one who got destroyed instead of Zavarus!!"
"...." Robin raised an eyebrow, then began to laugh violently. "Hahaha, this is real, that scoundrel actually did it."
"Grr!" Kiryān gritted his teeth fiercely.
"Lord Kiryān, please sit down, and do not be angry with Lord Robin." Glacion stood up and began to gently press Kiryān down to sit. "It's just that you got caught in a game between two ancient entities, and Lord Robin did not harm you intentionally. Even if he did, he was carrying out the plan of that entity called the All-seeing God."
"Even if he did not attack Helmor now, he would have attacked later. You are the closest Behemoth to him, along with Lord the Savage. It's a matter of when, not if." Then Glacion continued after Kiryān sat down: "The only difference, and the advantage you have now... is that Lord Robin is sitting before you." Then he smiled. "...And with him are the Keys, with Support equal to that of the person threatening you, and with power that enabled him to threaten the Archon before your very eyes!"
"....?" Kiryān and Zavarus turned toward Robin with furrowed brows, in silence.
"...." Robin showed a big, confident smile toward Zavarus. "I came because I read a report about the Nine Tails Family and the Blood of the Nine Tails Emperor, and about your refusal to destroy and pursue the Shadow Swords." Then he raised his head slightly. "Zavarus, you gave your gift on Saturday, and here I am returning it to you on Sunday."
Then he continued with the same confidence: "Zavarus... do you want another chance?"
