2393 - All seeing ones!
"...Teacher?!" Jabba was shocked, he could feel the hair on his body standing up at this moment.
His teacher was not accustomed to cursing, not in this way.
And the Master's body language had also changed noticeably, shockingly.
His left leg had begun to move nervously, his eyes that gazed toward the horizon had become sharp and ordinary as if he were looking at his sworn enemy, his left hand also covered his mouth and pressed down on it as if he were trying to stop himself from saying more... or perhaps he was squeezing his face to relieve his anger.
"...." Robin continued his harsh, distant gaze for a few seconds, then turned to Jabba and showed a small, fake smile on his face, "I apologize... these are matters concerning people beyond my reach, I have no choice but to act like a fool and tarnish my image before you to calm myself down a little." Then he turned back toward the horizon, "...at least for now."
"....." Jabba remained silent to give Robin enough time to try to control his vital functions from the effects of his obvious anger, then he finally spoke, "...You said someone did this before the beginning of... the Cycle?"
"I'll make it brief for you." Robin spoke while looking away, "Do you know the All-Seeing God?"
"Of course." Jabba nodded, "The hand behind the curtain, the most mysterious figure in history."
The topic of Robin's nomination had already become famous, and Jabba knew this was no rumor because he had heard the name from the Master himself before, so he took an interest in learning all the recorded legends about him over the past years.
"Hmm, roughly." Robin didn't want to argue. "It turns out there are a few other All seeing ones who hate our All-seeing God and conspire against him, and they do so by dominating us for some reason. I heard him say this himself."
"Other All seeing ones conspiring against us?!" Jabba jolted.
"Yes," Robin nodded. "They're called the Transcendents. They were behind the first Space Beast invasion and behind the support of all the great powers currently destroying the Universe... and I'm 100% sure that one of them, or all of them, did something to disable humans 97.8 million years ago. They're the ones who tampered with the Heavenly Laws and killed the Mutable particles!"
"To that extent?!" Jabba forced an incredulous smile onto his face. If this were true, the scale of the damage that occurred couldn't be described—the level of malice required for something like that was simply horrifying.
"...I've heard a lot and seen a lot over the past few months." Robin began tapping his seat in anger. "Any dark tunnel—they're at the end of it. Any victim—they're the ones holding the knife. Any missing piece of cheese—you'll find they're the ones who ate it."
Then he shook his head, "I don't know what the All-seeing God did to bring upon himself, and upon us, this kind of brutality and hatred."
Then he raised his voice slightly, "Why was I born into a filthy universe that has been rigged since its very beginning, and I'm forced to fix things that are taken for granted by the inhabitants of other universes? Why did I do it, what did you do, to be held accountable for the consequences of the All-seeing God's problems with his enemies?!" Then he struck his seat hard, "What kind of justice is this? Why are we placed in a position of weakness because of a feud we don't know about, between people we don't know? And in the end, we'll be crushed at the end of the Cycle because of this very detail!"
"...Please, calm down." Jabba raised both hands and began gesturing downward with his palms, "Just what happened? What did you hear?"
"Tsk." Robin pulled a light sphere from his head, "Here you'll find my battle with the Executioner and the appearance of the All-seeing God. You'll find excerpts of everything I know about the matter and what happened after the battle as well." And he tossed it toward Jabba.
Jabba didn't resist the Soul Sphere, "Ah!" But he didn't seem to be in good shape either.
His features shifted to a sharp focus, and his pupils rose until they disappeared into his head, and his mouth fell open.
Clearly, the amount of information required proper digestion.
Silence fell—
But it didn't last more than a few seconds.
"Hmm..." Sakaar began to let out pained sounds and barely moved his body, trying to raise his arm to press against his hearts from the intensity of the pain.
"Ah, you're alive," Robin pulled out another Soul Sphere and tossed it toward Sakaar, "Take this too—you'll need this information."
"Ugh!!" Sakaar's hand stopped, then he fell still again.
As for Robin, he turned his gaze back into the distance...
A conspiracy? Most likely not.
The All-seeing God wouldn't be so oblivious as to not see what had happened. If this were an illegal conspiracy, he could at least have informed people about it and given them ways to circumvent it.
Right before his eyes, the All-seeing God had threatened to go to the Court and summon the Transcendents over the Executioner problem—so how could he overlook something like this?
No... this is 100% legal.
So legal that the All-seeing God saw what was happening and stayed silent for nearly an entire Cycle without opening his mouth on the matter.
But what kind of Law is this that condemns an entire Universe to weakness and failure from the very moment of its inception?
...Punishment?
"..." Robin's eyes trembled slightly.
The All-seeing God had spoken of the glory the Universe once possessed and its decline. Why would punishments of this magnitude be imposed on the Universe? And why would they interfere in it so blatantly?
Is it because of the All-seeing God? ...Or something else?
"..." Robin raised his hand and began massaging his forehead.
Dealing with those things always gave him a headache, and trying to understand the thinking of those higher beings without understanding their goals and history would be useless—nothing more than guesswork and hypotheses that would most likely end in failure.
"Hmm?"
At that moment, Robin felt someone's eyes on him. When he turned to look ahead, he found Jabba staring at him with fear and awe, like a lamb watching a hungry lion, his eyes bulging as if they were about to fall out.
Even Sakaar had woken up. He couldn't sit up straight, but he was clearly alert, watching Robin with all his senses, not daring to make a move.
"...What?!" Robin asked in confusion.
