2392 - An Ugly Conclusion
In the first quarter of the book, Jabba had already arrived at that truth.
The truth that the human body is prepared and ready to use the mutable particles—indeed, it could be said they already exist but lie dormant, unmoving, behaving like ordinary undetectable cells, and only activate when beast blood is added to the body. At that point, those mutable particles begin to emerge in response to the new catalytic agent, namely beast blood.
Jabba deduced this from many answers, most of which were short statements derived from what he saw through the Law of Identity by observing the effect of different beast bloods on human blood... and some of the rest were logical conclusions.
For example: What distinguishes beast blood? Does it make bodies stronger? That is not true. Weak beast blood also stimulates the body—it weakens it but prompts it to use the Laws, and this is a strange matter. What makes beasts closer to humans in relation to the Laws?!
The final conclusion of the first quarter states that humans possessed this ability innately—the ability to produce mutable particles specialized in dealing with the Heavenly Laws—but the human race lost it collectively at some point, and since then they have been forced to use beast blood as a substitute.
And that point is not too far back, since remnants of dormant mutable particles can still be observed in human bodies.
Jabba proposed several possibilities for that point—that event which ended the mutable particles in all human bodies at once—and all of them bordered on the impossible... Jabba himself knew this and wrote at the end of that first quarter that they were merely passing thoughts he entertained, and he wondered: what exactly could affect all humans at once, if not the Beginning of Creation?
But if the effect came from the Beginning of Creation, how did humans have the particles before and then lose them? That is a clear contradiction.
A contradiction left open for the reader's mind, but Jabba built the rest of the book on this conclusion regardless.
Yet Robin knew the reason—the only correct answer—immediately.
The Cycles.
The Executioner spoke of the current Cycle, the All-seeing God's deception, the ordering of universes through wars and numbers, and other wonders—things that, when connected, and when linked to the Cosmic Elder's earlier words about waiting for the event after 100 million years, and about terrifying things occurring, and about the hidden weapons in the towers and ancient pyramids from previous eras...
He would arrive at the conclusion that something happens every 100 million years that erases existence for some reason and resets everything back to zero.
If the humans of this Cycle do not possess the Mutable particles, and they existed in those before... then the predecessors are undoubtedly the people of previous Cycles.
When Robin reached that conclusion, his heart sank slightly into unease...
What could cause such a massive change?
Stripping humans of the ability to use the Heavenly Laws? And since the universes are separated, it's safe to say this happened to them specifically, in sector B-14. Did other universes suffer the same fate? Perhaps, but even if they did, it would also be in isolation, as there is no contact between universes.
So... why, in isolation, would such a trait be excised from humans?
And placing the cure in the blood of beasts?!
This is not merely a diminishment of the power of the inhabitants of the Force; it is a clear and explicit insult.
If you want to become stronger, you turn into a beast.
A beast of limited power, and you will remain limited like it forever, because its blood will overwhelm your pure human body and lead it, slowly and noticeably changing the details of your body, soul, and nature... You will become the beast, and lose your humanity.
What is the escape from that humiliating fate other than this?
The Soul Path, which Morpheus and the Dreamer Galaxy crush, leaving no room for it to breathe, to the point that a mere two-star Royal Soul Master bullies the largest Stellar Academy within the sector.
The second escape is... the exceptional humans like Raiden and the Behemoth of Gravity.
Those who, according to the Planet Spirits, are made by them—they are the ones who instill in them an affinity for a certain Law... It could be said that they are the ones who reactivate the Mutable particles in their bodies.
...Not too long ago, Robin discovered the Sixth Path.
In very brief terms, he discovered that allowing heavenly laws to engrave Patterns on the Soul Domain and the Energy Gathering Center leads to choking and prevents the Law from strengthening the body.
Using the Law of Truth, he was able to discern the correct order of several laws that are frequently used in the empires under his command. Whoever uses the technique he devised will cause the Heavenly Law to alter their body, forcing it to assist him, forcing it to create mutable particles of energy within his body to employ those laws.
But according to Jabba's study, there are indeed real dormant particles waiting to be activated—the Heavenly Law did not need to take that step. Instead of focusing on creating fake particles, the Heavenly Law could have granted the body an additional 10% affinity or more.
"...What exactly is happening here." Robin revealed a strange smile.
The issue of the incorrect engraving order is suspicious, but one could argue it's a test from the Heavenly Laws or laziness on the part of those who came before. An extra step could be taken to say the Heavenly Laws are foolish and trusting them was the problem.
But the bodies themselves changed and lost what made them strong?
Is this a coincidence—the Heavenly Laws conspiring against humans while their own bodies fail them at the same time?
"Hmm..."
At that moment, Jabba began to stir in his chair. Slowly and gently, he raised his hand and started rubbing his eye with his left.
Then he suddenly stopped as if remembering something and sat up straight, "What the...?!"
Then he felt something beside him and turned, "Ah!!" Sakaar was turned toward him, baring his massive fangs in a terrifying grimace.
"Welcome back." Robin snapped his fingers to draw Jabba's attention back to him again.
"....?" Jabba turned toward Robin, then toward Sakaar again to confirm he was unconscious, then back to Robin, "Why does everyone who sits with you end up passing out?!"
"Perhaps from the sheer awe." Robin showed a small smile, "Tell me, Jabba, you've read my sixth training path, right?"
"Mm." Jabba nodded, "Genius and foolproof, it's just going to take a lot of work from you to bring the correct order to the patterns of all the laws."
"Hmm, why do you think there's a problem with the Heavenly Laws' treatment of us, and the dullness of the mutable particles at the same time?" Robin tilted his head slightly, "It's as if whoever escapes one obstacle will find the other, and their combination together left humanity in a pitiful state across all planets and made us suffer for 97.9 million years... why?"
"Why?" Jabba raised his eyebrows, "Do you think the cause of the two problems is connected?"
Robin nodded, "I think some son of a bitch imposed an excessive punishment on B-14 before the start of the Cycle."
