2325 - The Mysterious Beginning
Zzzzzzzing—
Everyone watched the sword approach, and their hearts began to race.
The sword emitted a dense, burning yellow glow, as if it were the Sun itself. Its Vibration intensified, and Woosh nearly escaped several times in different directions, but was quickly caught again and pulled back.
They even continued to catch glimpses of Robin, gritting his teeth and sweating, clearly struggling.
"Hmm," Zavarus opened his mouth after a few moments of silence, "Do you need help, Lord Robin?"
"..?" Robin let out a chuckle. "No, thanks. I want to try something."
Kiryān raised an eyebrow, trying to assess the situation. He watched Robin barely manage to pull out one of Marlik's swords.
"Please, take note of the power Lord Robin is using," Glacion interjected. "So far, he is only using his power as a Spirit Master. He hasn't used any technique, nor any of the Master Laws from the handful he possesses."
"Oh..." Zavarus sat back down more calmly. "Lord Robin loves challenges, it seems."
"I love measurements, perhaps," Robin corrected. "I want to see the difference in power between what we possess and external knowledge. So far, I've used the power of a seven-star royal, and I'm still barely struggling with the sword."
Hmm.
A new, denser surge of spirit power burst forth from Robin, and the sword began to advance with greater steadiness.
"Heh~ How ironic." Robin flashed a bitter smile.
A mere Manufactured Sword could exhaust a Seven-Star Spirit Master to this degree? The maximum is only Ten Stars? Just how lowly is the level of spirit power in this universe?
He was now beginning to understand what the All-seeing God had said in front of the Executioner—that B-14 was still trying to explore spirit power even to this day… How pathetic and miserable.
Robin channeled additional power from the Ninth Star, and the sword accelerated toward him, then slammed violently into Robin's hand with a *bang*, as if trying to shatter it… but it met an iron grip that choked the scabbard.
"Hmm…" He began to wave it with his left hand, examining it with his golden eyes, then opened his mouth. "What do you think of what Glacion said, Zavarus?"
"All I can say is that I don't know why they gave me a chance and specifically sent me the Butcher. The only thing I can think of is because I'm strong and close to your territory." Zavarus shook his head.
Then he sighed.
He had landed in a very bad situation because his geographical position placed him near that human!
"…?" Robin gave Zavarus a strange look, then pointed at Glacion. "Explain it to him."
“…” Glacion looked around. “Explain what to him?”
“Explain the First Tier System of the Destra Family, of course!” Robin spoke with confidence, as if this were the most obvious thing.
“….?” Zavarus turned to Glacion quickly and forcefully, wanting to understand what any of this had to do with everything that had been said.
“……” Glacion remained silent, trying to open his mouth several times, but he couldn’t find the words.
“Really, now?” Robin expressed disappointment toward Glacion and Zavarus, then turned to Kiryān. “What about you? Don’t you feel like conquering anything tonight?”
“……” He too fell silent, deeply embarrassed.
“Tsk~” Robin returned to trying to pass his soul into the sword, continuing to speak as the blade screamed in his hand. “Why, in your opinion, are all the First Tier sons of Destra failures, and why did they all leave to found empires? They all have a reputation for causing trouble, and each one is considered the troublemaker of the sector they went to, or its central point.”
Then he continued, “Before the Internal War, they numbered in the dozens and were relatively weak. The strongest among them was Hedrick, who is said to be as strong as the Second Tier sons who suddenly appeared… Why are these the First Tier sons? And why was Hedrick alone as strong as the Second Tier sons?”
“…” The three turned toward one another.
Then Zavarus furrowed his brows. "It is said that Helmor wants to prove that following him without question is the Path of Truth, so he gives his sons of the First Tier the freedom to do as they wish, to serve as an example for the sons of the Second Tier."
"And why doesn't he simply kill the dissenters? They are his sons, and no one from the outside would object. Or force them to do what he wants, or even make them take an oath?" Robin shook his head. "That doesn't justify putting them at the forefront, making them the First Tier, and keeping them there."
"...Then why do you think, Lord Robin?" Zavarus showed an awkward smile. He still didn't know how the conversation had reached this point, but he didn't want to offend Robin in any way.
"..." Robin remained silent for a moment. "Because he wants to show that he and his sons are still human."
".....?" Everyone furrowed their brows immediately.
"History says that Helmor suddenly appeared with his son Hedrick, and with overwhelming power they subjugated Sector 110 within just a few years. That is the beginning. There is no news of his origins, his struggles on Planet Destra, his adventures before that, anyone pursuing him, or his discovery of the seventh tier of the Fundamental Law of Destruction..." Then he looked around. "Has any news of that era reached any of you?"
"No..." Glacion shook his head. "His appearance was sudden, and his rise was meteoric."
"The overwhelming power of the main Law of Destruction makes such an emergence possible," Kiryān spoke. "But indeed, the absence of history prior to that is strange... I have never heard any tale of Helmor when he was in the Nexus State, for example." Then he looked at Robin.
"And how does this relate to our conversation, Lord Robin?" Zavarus asked.
"It certainly does. The universe around us is far more complex than we imagine, and apparently, the All-seeing God was not the only one playing with his fingers everywhere." Robin nodded, his golden eyes fixed on the sword. "From what I see, Helmor and his first-tier son Hedrick subdued the Sector with excessive force, and then things calmed down immediately. After that, strange problems began to emerge in the Destra family—such as Helmor killing Hedrick's wife and daughter because they would distract him or something like that, then the strange appointment of the First Tier, those borrowing laws, and then the Internal War... all internal problems, all foolishness."
Then, after a brief pause, he continued, "...Honestly, I see that Helmor was using the First Tier Sons to make everyone see that he was human, that they were an ordinary family, so they would focus on the present, the surface, and the family drama, following the principle of *look at the sparrow* so no one would dig into his background, while he prepared his real army in secret, or the sons of the Second and Third Tiers, if you will... that is, if they were even his sons to begin with."
