2216 - The Arkalonian Method
Seconds earlier…
“…The sky will rain shit upon your heads today!” Arkalon shouted toward the largest space beast before him, then began freely channeling the immense spiritual energy entrusted to him into Seraphim.
“Raaaaaawr—” The space beasts started charging toward him rapidly, whether they had heard him or not was unknown; they were tasked with killing his master regardless.
As for Arkalon, he let out a sigh before this majestic sight—a sight he had never imagined during his life that he would ever see—then raised the pen. “Come on, Wonderful Pen, I’ve been eager to try you out ever since I first saw you!”
Then he began writing something on the air at such tremendous speed that his hand seemed to disappear, while something before him started to appear and expand rapidly.
*Whoosh* *Whoosh* In the blink of an eye, a massive array formed before Arkalon, an array written entirely with Spirit Power.
“Amazing…” Arkalon, the Spirit Creature himself, marveled at what his own hands had wrought.
He had been right about that Wonderful Pen…
He had used ordinary Spirit Units and simulated the necessary inks to create the array!!
The consumption of Spirit Power to accomplish this was immense, but in return, he could now use any Array he had ever known or created without any prior preparation—and that alone was terrifying!!
Moreover… the Array Threads were a dazzling gold, just like that Aura from the Eye, which gave them a strange power, as well as an air of mystery and dread.
“Haha, this will be truly entertaining!” Arkalon laughed loudly, then pushed the Array he had completed forward with a loud shout: <The Arkalonian Array of Casted Bones!!>
*Da-dam*
The Golden Array activated and began to spin, then countless threads extended and burrowed into the corpse of one of the monsters that had been killed by the Purifier Fire or by other monsters, before completely disappearing inside it.
*Joom*
The Spirit Units within those threads took the place of the fractured Soul Domain and sealed the gaps within it, while the commands and information within the thread became the new *soul* responsible for the body.
*Turbulence*
Nearly seventy thousand monsters were floating around aimlessly, without purpose, without direction, and suddenly their eyes lit up with gold, then they all surged toward Arkalon.
But for a different reason—
*Bam* Whenever one of the controlled beast corpses approached a living beast, it would violently collide with it or open its massive maw and tear off a chunk.
It was as if those controlled beast corpses possessed a compass that determined the source of danger. A massive number of them surged specifically toward the ancient space beasts and began colliding with them, and in a non-random manner as well, as almost all the impacts came from one side and near the head, aiming to force the enormous beast to change its course or stop by force.
The controlled beast corpses had no awareness of danger or sensation of pain, and in mere moments, they had collided with everything nearby and devoured the flesh of anything their teeth could reach.
Then they formed an outer ring around the Father Tree, acting as a second protective layer.
A shield of flesh containing Robin, the Executioner, and the rest of the humans inside.
"Aaaaah—!!!"
One of the adult space beasts let out a devastating roar, then opened its mouth and exhaled a thick black flame that looked like flowing liquid.
Instantly, dozens of corpses blocking its path melted away… but in the next moment, others came and filled their places again.
"Excellent." Arkalon began twirling the Seraphim pen in his hand with enthusiasm, a huge smile on his face. "The first step is to isolate the owner and his opponent from the fight, and that's done." Then his eyes blazed even brighter. "And now it's time for some real excitement."
*Crack*
"Hmm?" Arkalon looked up when he felt something move behind him, finding one of the Father Tree's branches rapidly advancing toward one of the corpses. It pierced it from behind as if performing the most polite act in the world, then withdrew the branch again, coiling a large crystal in its center.
"You little thief..." Arkalon cast a glance toward the Father Tree, which had begun acting on its own, but he ignored it and returned to watching the situation, raising the pen. "Well, they don't need them anymore anyway." Then his grin widened. "Alright, which soul array shall I try on you now?"
"Aha!" His eyes lit up as an idea struck him, then he reached out to start writing.
*Scratch*
The pen drew a single, very thin line and then stopped writing.
"Hmm?" Arkalon pulled it back and looked at the pen's tip, then sighed. "The ink's run out, then..."
He then cast a sideways glance at Robin, who was tossing several dark spheres into the air at that moment.
A look full of reproach.
He blames the owner for not having enough Units to continue this final battle.
And it was also filled with farewells…
Arkalon was not afraid of the monsters crossing the barrier or of death; he was already dead, now nothing more than a spirit creature… He was bidding farewell to that strange relationship between him and that even stranger human—the human who helped him achieve accomplishments he could not reach even when he was alive.
"Just a little more… If only a little more remained with you, you would never have to worry about this front again, but…" Arkalon sighed, then turned back to look at the monsters, raising his fists. "It's fine. It was a good second life."
*Whoosh*
"Hmm?" Arkalon suddenly felt an immense power, a flood of Spirit Units surging through his body. "Hahaha, power!!!" He laughed loudly, then turned back to look at Robin, who had begun threatening his opponent with the guillotine. Arkalon started moving the pen quickly. "Come on, come on, before he consumes everything again!"
*Whoosh* *Whoosh*
In just a few seconds, Arkalon completed a massive Array, no smaller or less complex than the one he had used to control the corpses of tens of thousands of monsters!
Then, finally, he pulled out the pen and drew a seal on the palm of his hand before pressing it into the center of the Array with a low shout: <The Arkalonian Array of Hidden Souls.>
*Hooooooooooom*
It was as if The Void itself had trembled for a moment.
Waves of Spirit Units and the primal spirits of the slain Space Beasts began rushing toward the Array like a flood, and upon arrival, they started swirling above it like an endless cosmic vortex.
A vortex that took on a golden hue.
The various hostile and natural impurities of the Space Beasts seemed like mere rumors; the vortex was nothing but a gathering of docile Spirit Units!
*Crack*
With another movement, Arkalon created a smaller Array, one that began firing tiny blades at the primal spirits of the beasts, cutting them apart, resulting in an immense power… but no matter how great that power was, not a single particle of it escaped the massive vortex!
*Whoosh* That power began to distribute itself among the Space Beasts forming the protective shields, strengthening them, while another part started pouring into Seraphim.
"Now… you can consume your Units as you please." Arkalon flashed a huge grin, "I made some for myself, hehehehe."
