2440 - The Syndicate's Mode of Operation - 2

"...Don't you know the Syndicate's mode of operation, Glacion?" Blokan gave his companion a sidelong glance. "You've maintained your position as President of the Millennium Empire for a long time... Don't tell me they never tried with you."

"...." Glacion looked at the ground. "You know?"

"I wasn't born yesterday." Blokan turned to look away again.

"Am I to understand that all Academy Masters of the Stellar Academies know what the Syndicate does to the leaders of the great empires?!" Glacion swallowed.

"Of course not." Blokan chuckled. "My knowledge wasn't gained in a private lesson at the Council of Thrones, but through research and digging, because I knew there was something wrong with the strange power behind the Syndicate and the rot lurking behind it... I don't know how many others have done this besides me, but they are silent like me, and most likely will remain silent forever."

Then he gritted his teeth. "I found out in my own way how that Qarun obtained his power too, his laws... Since that day I've wanted to break free from this system, but I held my tongue and continued my work waiting for an opportunity, an opportunity that would enable me to escape the influence of the Syndicate and Qarun's vileness..." Then he snorted. "I didn't reckon I'd be trapped between them again when the opportunity came to me."

"How did that person get his power? You mean Qarun?" Glacion was surprised, "How?"

"...You don't need to know." Blokan muttered in a low voice, then looked back toward Glacion, "What matters is that you know the true motives behind those powers that blindly follow rumors."

"I know..." Glacion nodded, swallowing his saliva, "I just... didn't think they would use that card now."

In truth... the universe is darker than it seems.

And its rulers are not rulers.

The Syndicate initially took a place thanks to Sevar's power, and after him Marlik and the rest of his disciples and disciples of disciples, but this benefited them as a new power in the universe that has its respect... It was not the reason behind their spread in this manner and their reaching this influence.

What the common people and even most of the high class do not know is what the senior members of the Syndicate do with the leaders of the universe.

To gain rapid influence and strong spread from the beginning, Sevar used the Fifth Level Causality Law to find a number of weak-willed leaders of the Millennial Empires, then sent his followers to them, each one of them with his own way, each one of them with his own contract.

Some of them were in trouble due to internal conflicts. Sevar's followers helped them eliminate internal competition by assisting them in carrying out a series of assassinations that had to be executed in a specific manner… such as a son killing his father through precise torture, or setting fire to his younger siblings… and after that, their seat became comfortable for them.

Some of them were suffering from poverty due to the spread of wars, so they were advised to destroy a number of their planets in specific ways and create artistic rivers of blood in other places, and afterward, quantities of resources began revealing themselves to them, sufficient to lift them out of poverty.

One of them struggled for a period with soul injuries and was on the path to death, so he was instructed to cut off the heads of a million children and place them on wooden stakes, and indeed afterward he received suitable treatment for his condition that extended his life to this day.

Another was forced to eat the flesh of a living human for the sake of a better version of his Law that would enable him to achieve Breakthrough, and of course, all of this was monitored, stored, and later used against him.

What these Leaders did not know at the time was that they were photographed visually and spiritually while giving orders for those acts or committing them themselves. They were photographed while dealing with the Syndicate, and their signatures with spiritual fingerprint on the contract between them were kept as evidence.

Immediately after that preparatory period ended, the Syndicate's true emergence in those Sectors began… those powers were forced to protect the Syndicate's followers and not to harm them.

It started with those powers protecting them in twenty or thirty Sectors, where Sevar's followers began appointing random criminals from the streets and giving them headquarters visible to the eye where they carried out everything criminal—carrying out racial extermination missions, spreading deadly drugs, rape and terror missions, or even overthrowing governing systems.

Everything is possible as long as you pay.

The public did not understand how something like this could be protected and out in broad daylight, and they do not understand to this day… but with time their eyes grew accustomed to their presence, their souls grew accustomed to the destruction they caused, and their minds grew accustomed to the idea that it was natural for their leaders to submit to that small group of vandals.

And of course, the Syndicate's beginning in this manner was nothing but a beginning for a cosmic hegemony… these actions were repeated with several powers in every Sector, and this time Sevar did not need to intervene himself.

Millennium Empires, Centennial, or even Multi... any emperor or prince who has a dark entrance, they enter through it to him and help him in exchange for performing those rituals, recording him, and taking his Spiritual Imprint as evidence, then they carry out whatever he wants.

A quarter of them have already fallen under the mercy of The Syndicate, performed those rituals, and their necks are now in The Syndicate's hand, and it's over.

Another quarter knows what is happening, for they too were approached and offered great things, but they evaded. For them, what they wanted did not justify what was asked of them... Glacion is one of them.

But these were threatened to remain silent about the agreements, otherwise The Syndicate would not need to move to eliminate them — their neighbors would do the job.

As for the last part, and these constitute a complete half, they were not exposed to that situation in the first place. These are either weak and marginalized with no use, like Renara as the Head of the Empire of Nine Paths… or extremely powerful with principles that are difficult to dissuade, so no attempt was made with them at all, like Hedrick as the Emperor of the Marginalized Millennial Dreams.

The Syndicate dealt with these in its apparent form as a major power that already possesses Law Dominators and countless resources, a power that should not be trifled with… so this last half accepted the fait accompli, and they watched as well.
