2427 - The Fathers
Sector 99 Medium—Cosmic Sacred Covenant Academy
Timari opened her eyes, then *BAM* she stood up and kicked the nearest table, "AHHH!!!" Her scream shook her quarters.
Then she began panting rapidly, her breath uneven, her chest rising and falling quickly, her eyes twitching as well, "This is bad... this is bad..."
The recording had been released—no doubt the main display screens in Soul Society had started showing it to the public, no doubt Soul Society headquarters in the real world had begun distributing the recordings for free in the streets.
She had tried every way to talk Morval out of his decision, but he wouldn't respond for some reason. She even asked him to raise the price to at least a hundred times over, since this was defamation with severe consequences, hoping to make it impossible for the clip's owner to pay—but he refused, citing the Society's credibility and equal opportunity.
He said he had given Renara and Hedrick full opportunity for live broadcast, and he had to do the same for the other side, otherwise he would be complicit and treated as being on Robin Burton's side.
She screamed at him to be treated as being on Robin Burton's side then—he hated the other Three Pillars anyway!!
But... for some reason... he had already given the order for urgent release, even for printing and distributing the clip everywhere.
Catastrophe!!
"What do we do..." Timari muttered, "We could still say we're doing our job since we received payment, but would Lord Robin care about that excuse?! Damn..." Then she seemed to remember something...
She raised her face in shock and began moving quickly toward the balcony, looking left and right rapidly until her eyes landed on her target... a group of the Cosmic Elder's children.
And luckily for her, that group contained the Cosmic Elder's two eldest children, along with about twenty other brothers and sisters, sitting together laughing and exchanging stories.
Timari kept staring, knowing this scene wouldn't last...
Then, with cunning, she used her formidable spiritual power and began listening to them without anyone noticing~
"I'm first in my class this month, again!"
"Tsk~ Nothing to brag about, there are no blood brothers or sisters in your class, not even people from the Burton Family, you're competing against ordinary children of the Behemoths!"
"Pfft~ I can just hear the jealousy in your voice, Mister Fifth Place."
"Do you hear this cheeky one, big brother?!"
"Hmph, first and fifth, teenage nonsense from those who don't know real success!"
"And is real success marrying a girl from the Burton Family and having two daughters?"
"Two adorable princesses, if you please!"
"Khkh!!"
"Hehe~ Is there really any need for competition?" The eldest brother, the one who had gone out to Robin for the first time right after the agreement, laughed, "As long as each of you does your best, that's all that matters. Whoever does that will not be scolded by the Father, nor will the spiritual Father lose faith in him."
"...Where is this, and where is that?"
"....." Everyone fell silent.
Their Father's prolonged absence had undoubtedly affected everyone's psyche, especially since they had been born and raised playing in his lap. They had all been born on a small island where there was only one Father and many mothers.
Now the Father was gone, and they couldn't even see their mothers... No one could open a Gate to the inside of the sealed planet!
"Where are they?" The eldest brother grew slightly angry, "We are living off their blessings right now." Then he spread his arms, "We've grown up and seen enough in the Soul Society and other adventures to appreciate the level we live at now. Even the offspring of the Behemoths, whom the universe's children place at the highest rank, don't receive half of this treatment... And we get all of this without paying anything or needing to do anything. Thank those who provided this for us and stop complaining!"
Then the young man looked away seriously, "Our Father is the great Cosmic Elder, perhaps he is completing a mission to save everyone right now... and our spiritual father is the genius Lord Human, perhaps he is inventing something for everyone's benefit right now..." Then he smiled at them falsely, "Do you think they have free time to play with us?"
"...You're right, big brother."
"Hoooow..."
At that moment, someone came from afar carrying a disc and waving it.
"Ah!" Timari covered her mouth with her hands.
She immediately knew what was happening... The groups scatterer had arrived.
"Come, come." The big brother among them gestured to the newcomer, "What's wrong with you?"
"Look, this thing has started spreading in Soul Society. When I saw its preview, I bought a copy right away and came so we could watch the rest together." The young man placed the disc on the ground.
Then he pressed the play button...
*Click hisssss—*
[Greetings, people of the universe. I come to you with a heavy heart and a weary conscience, and it is time for you to share the painful reality with me.]
From the disc appeared a person sitting behind a luxurious desk, resting his arms on the desk surface and interlacing his fingers with reverence. He wore square black glasses that hid his eyes, but his handsomeness and youth were evident in his prominent jawline, his smooth taut skin, and his meticulously styled hair, as if he had just stepped out of a beauty salon.
After a few seconds of anticipation following the first few words that came out of that man's mouth, all the young people present and most of the viewers across the universe were trying to guess who he was... The introduction came quickly:
[Before anything else, let me introduce myself... I am Master Qarun, Lord of Thrones, Supreme General of the Stellar Academies System, which has protected you and secured the righteous path of the universe for tens of millions of years... With you is the Voice of Truth.]
