2365 - Exploring Power - 2
*Crack*
The Tearing of Existence attack consumes a massive amount of Spirit Units to affect everything around its user by striking the space in the area. It is considered a wide-range attack used as a last resort, whether to clear the zone or give the attacker a chance to escape while their enemies retreat.
And as it happened, today there was nothing around him but Pure Space. The attack's range was greater and its effect better, so space tore and twisted, and everything standing within the area would undoubtedly be torn apart like—
*Bam*
The wave struck Hedrick's body directly, like a shovel hitting the surface of water.
Hedrick's clothes fluttered violently, and his skin rippled slightly... but that was all.
It was as if a handful of Spirit Units had been tossed at him at random.
The twisted space and its screeching tears came up to his body and stopped—the manipulation of Spirit Units failed to make space attack Hedrick!
"I can feel the Major Law of Space avoiding me, deliberately distributing the attack around me. So that's how it is..." Hedrick muttered with a faint smile. "Removal of Boundaries doesn't just grant me mastery over all laws—it makes the laws instinctively fear attacking me... This is remarkable."
"What the—?!" The Eight-Star Spirit Master retreated again, terrified by the sight.
But he didn't try to flee outright—his attack wasn't finished yet.
*Haaaaam*
At that moment, while Hedrick closed his eyes, the second wave of his devastating assault came crashing down.
While Hedrick was occupied analyzing what was happening, he suddenly felt a headache, and a certain seal began to form on his forehead. He slowly opened his eyes, annoyed.
That seal was circular with a five-pointed star at its center, its color a deep purple bordering on black, and its dreadful aura was enough to kill some creatures outright.
"Hahaha!" The Spirit Master shouted joyfully as he saw the seal taking shape. "You'll regret underestimating me—death has been decreed for you today, even if not by my hand!!"
Then he turned and bolted away.
"Wait!" Hedrick raised his hand and clenched it.
"...!!" The Spirit Master stopped against his will, feeling as though he had suddenly sunk to the depths of the ocean, with a strange heaviness pressing against his body from all sides, leaving him unable to escape.
"Heh... heheh..." The Spirit Master finally felt comfortable enough to speak. "The Seal of Slow Fall—I consumed more than half of the Array's power to implant it into you in a way that cannot be removed... From now on, any technique you perform or any move you make will trigger an automatic spiritual attack, and if you try to absorb Energy or use a weapon, you'll feel twice the pain."
Then, very slowly, he turned around to face Hedrick. "You have been sentenced to death." He continued with a confident smile, "Unless, of course... we come to an agreement."
"Seal?" Hedrick smiled. "I have one of those."
*HUMMM*
At that moment, Hedrick's body began to flicker with a faint golden light, then the color gathered until it reached his forehead.
*CRACK*
The purple seal began to crack immediately.
"What?!" The Spirit Master shouted in a loud voice.
*BANG* The next second, the seal exploded, but the Spirit Power placed within it did not spread. The Spirit Master could feel that strange golden power sealing the Spirit Power inside Hedrick's head... helping him digest it?!
Then something began to happen... the golden power started to form on Hedrick's forehead until it took the shape of a new seal.
The new Golden Seal's frame consisted of five points, five symbols, with a thread of patterns and unreadable engravings between each symbol, and in the center of this pentagonal shape was an eye-shaped pattern.
It somewhat resembled the array Robin had used to break Hedrick's, Renara's, and before them Althera's restrictions, but on a smaller scale—the immense array appeared as a small, polished seal, majestic in appearance and aura.
"Hmm." Hedrick showed a wide smile. "The seal can rid me of external influences on my body, even spiritual ones? Astonishing."
Then he raised his hands and began examining them, before showing a weary expression as if mocking himself: "Pathetic."
Recalling the conversation in which the Master had spent time convincing him of the external situation, persuading him to follow, while he refused and denied his words...
That person, the Master, how exactly did he look at him? Standing there before him, knowing he could grant him this power or wait a hundred years while he chased his pathetic dreams before going out on his own and dying in regret...
Where did he muster the patience for that?! "Heh~" Hedrick looked toward the Eighth Spirit Master. "Thank you, Galaxy of the Cursed... for giving me a quick chance to say *thank you*."
But he soon sighed again… when he was done with them, he would polish the galaxy for himself according to the orders.
Even while fighting under orders, he was reaping benefits he could never have dreamed of at the height of his former power.
*Clang*
At that moment, Hedrick sensed something that made him furrow his brows and feel a hint of danger.
Quickly, he looked toward the depths of the galaxy, his piercing eye cutting through everything and catching sight of nearly 20 Royal Soul Masters of 7 stars or higher heading his way!
"Oh?" Hedrick raised his brows slightly. "It seems your brothers scattered across Mid Sector 101 have returned to defend their home… tsk~ In a few hours here, I managed to drive them out of 101, whereas in the past I led armies, set ambushes, and sacrificed millions of lives just to try and stall them." Then he smiled. "So this is what it means to be a piece on the board, rather than a soldier?"
"Ha… haha, mutter whatever you like—as long as the brothers have returned, you're dead now, no question!!" The Bound Spirit Master replied joyfully.
"Alright, you go on your way now." Hedrick turned his focus back to his prisoner. "A new chance to test my limits has arrived."
Then he raised his hand, almost about to wave it and sever his neck.
But he paused for a moment, looked at his hand… then smiled and slowly aimed it toward his victim. "Let's try the Major Law of Destruction on you."
*BOOOOOOM*
The Eight-Star Spirit Master vanished before he even had a chance to scream, his cells separating from one another and scattering in utter silence.
"100% of the Major Law of Destruction..." Hedrick turned to look at his hand again, "I wonder if that person will feel anything? Hehe hahaha"
Then he summoned his sword once more *shing* and charged toward the center of the galaxy, "Come on!!"
