2205 - The Seven Military Units
*Clatter*
While the space beasts were still distracted, observing and assessing the situation, and a tremor shook the hearts of Althera and Blokan… the seven combat units moved.
“…” Blokan opened his eyes wide and watched the scene in awe, stealing glances at Robin from time to time.
He asked himself what he would have done if Robin were his opponent.
What if they ever fell out and he sent those seven units against him?
Most likely, he could destroy five of them, but he would struggle with the remaining two, and even if he managed to defeat them, it would be with great difficulty.
But…
Blokan fixed his eyes on Robin for a moment, standing in the back with his arms crossed and a big smile on his face.
If he were his opponent… he would bypass all of this and go straight for their master’s throat.
Perhaps the foolish beasts would fight those spirit creatures to the last breath, but no sane person would do that… any Guardian with a few Spiritual Borrowings would retreat and look for an opportunity to attack Robin himself.
That’s why no Royal Soul Master has become a Behemoth just because they possess good spirit creatures—they all distinguished themselves by something else…
In real battles against real opponents, none of this is useful.
Only personal strength is what saves a person and places them in a truly high position.
No matter how powerful Lord Robin is, he would avoid any direct combat if that were his style... No wonder no one has ever heard of Lord Robin fighting, the one who is supposed to rule several sectors!
Then he turned back toward the anticipated battlefield...
Fortunately, they wouldn't be fighting humans today.
"Oooohhh!!!"
"Kkkiiieeekhh!!!"
In response to that hostile move, the hordes of nascent and young space beasts began to move as well, ferociously, impulsively.
They could no longer assess the situation or wait for orders from behind while the enemies were charging toward them!
*Turbulence* *Turbulence*
The place was a void, where even the law of space did not exist, yet immense disturbances and gravitational waves could be felt as the two forces approached at such speed.
Then...
*Bam*
The Wild Deer Spirit Creature raised its four front arms, then brought them down on the heads of four nascent space beasts, turning them into a paste of flesh and blood.
But that victory did not give any morale boost to the handful of spirit creatures, nor did it deter the handful of mindless beasts emboldened by their numbers.
The nascent space beasts continued advancing fiercely toward the wild stag, colliding with it directly until it retreated. Then, several of them climbed atop it and began biting it, using their claws, whips, and anything else that might work against it.
Despite its massive size, in the blink of an eye, it was covered by dozens of nascent beasts!
The scene repeated with the other six spirit creatures. After they killed a number of beasts in the front lines, they were overwhelmed and buried in a sea of monsters, their glow barely visible.
“…Lord Robin, I fear the plan to teach the beasts a lesson will not succeed.” Blokan began slowly retreating toward the passage. “But at least we have a real chance to fall back now.”
“Be patient.” Robin smiled confidently. “The battle has only just begun.”
“..?” Blokan furrowed his brows deeply, not stopping his retreat, only wondering if Robin had taken some blow to his mind.
Had he not seen his spirit creatures being buried?!
“There!” Althera pointed toward the center. “Something is happening over there!”
“Raaaawr—”
“Khaaa—!!”
The space beasts suddenly began to cry out, not in anger, but in pain.
Finally, the seven massive Spirit Creatures were revealed once more, their outer shells torn apart. The attack had nearly killed them, but beneath those shells, there were no glowing spirit units as usual—instead, there was a blazing green flame.
The flame spread toward every creature that had taken a bite, beginning to burn them from the inside, and toward every beast that had torn off a piece with its claws, roasting it and extending across the rest of its body.
"What's happening here?!" Blokan shouted.
"The Flame of Purification," Robin explained. "Its nature is to burn everything it touches, and it doesn't go out until it returns to its purest form. If the thing is pure, it doesn't feel the heat at all... For example, it burns all the altered and foreign cells in the body of someone like you if it touches you, either restoring you to a human or killing you during the process from the sheer pain." Robin continued after a brief pause, "As for the Space Beasts, which the Law of Purification doesn't even recognize and cannot read the extent of their corruption from their purity, it will simply keep burning them."
Robin couldn't smile as he watched hundreds of Nascent Space Beasts burning...
He had experienced that feeling before and knew how painful it was!
"Ooh!!"
The Nascent Spirit Creatures around each of the seven began to move as well, attacking all the injured beasts.
*Swish* *Swish*
Seven hundred massive swords shot out from the midst of the flesh planets like meteors, leaving trails of black blood behind them.
The power of each individual sword was not enough to kill, and their size was smaller than a dagger compared to the Nascent Space Beasts, but killing them was not the point.
*Swish* *Swish* *Swish* *Swish*
In moments, the swords tore through the beasts' joints, severed limbs, and stabbed at hearts, throats, groins, and anything that could harm the enemy.
Each one acted as if it had its own brain and its own goal, moving with extreme randomness—but that very randomness made tracking and trying to evade them impossible.
This chain of events freed the seven juvenile Spirit Creatures, and without Robin healing them, they advanced forward with their injured bodies blazing with green fire, leaving their followers of smaller beasts and the swords to finish the job.
Blokan finally stopped retreating, opening his mouth wide...
Summary of the first wave: seven combat units against tens of thousands of Nascent Space Beasts:
Not a single Spirit Creature fell, and not a single sword was broken.
