2433 - The Turning of the Scales
Ten years later—Year 785 after the Coronation
Middle Sector 90—
*Swoosh*
A white private spacecraft landed with a distinctive flourish on ground that leaned in color between yellow and orange, then *creak* the door opened and the stairs descended.
Then from the stairs descended a figure of stunning beauty…
Renara, with her nine swaying tails and her alluring feminine armor, made her look like a superior being walking on earth.
All the guards and generals bowed alike as she walked past them. Some generals here had been present on the Day of Coronation when His Majesty publicly insulted Renara before everyone, yet today everyone knew her current standing in the Empire—no one dared raise their head.
As for Renara herself, she did not walk long… She soon found a spacious tent at the edge of the grassy hill. Her steps quickened toward it, then *flap* she opened the cover and entered directly, "Did I keep you waiting?"
Inside that tent there were only three people—three men, and no one else.
The first was huge of body, square-faced, with a thin mustache curling around his mouth like a square, looking at a massive map with sunken eyebrows and clear anger… the Behemoth of Gravity, Grafur.
The other was a man with a long pale beard, wearing a wide, long robe and wrapping a scarf around his head… Arkail, the Behemoth of Time.
Each of the two had a powerful and dangerous aura of his own, but the aura around the latter was heavier and more balanced.
As for the third of them, he was a beardless young man with long white hair and two bull horns emerging from the top of his forehead. His aura was much weaker, to the point that he was almost hidden, yet he stood at the same level as the other two… Aro, Marshal of the Third Army and Ruler of the Grave Empire.
As soon as Renara entered, they all turned their bodies slightly toward her and nodded in greeting. The nod was not one of exaggerated reverence like what she had received outside, nor was it simple either; every one of them acknowledged her as an essential part of this place.
"Lady Renara, you have illuminated the Council." Aro opened both his arms, revealing a dazzling, captivating blue robe. "If you had told me the road was long for you, I would have arranged the meeting elsewhere, haha."
"Shhh—" Grafur waved toward Aro twice to silence him, then turned to Renara. "We need to talk."
"That's why I came." Renara reached their side around the massive terrifying table, each one of them standing at one of the four corners in an imposing scene, then Renara crossed her arms beneath her chest, "What's new?"
"The situation in Middle Sector 89 is no longer something that can be ignored at all." Grafur spoke sharply, "This cold war won't last another year." Then he raised his voice further, "We have to move!!"
"..." Renara listened until he finished, and when she saw he wouldn't add anything, she turned toward Aro, "Details."
"The situation is developing there." Aro was glad she chose him to explain, "At first, the Behemoth of Relativity was bracing for our attack on Middle Sector 89, so he mobilized his army there and began fortifying the sector, and there the other powers started supporting him for defense as you know, they refuse to hand Middle Sector 89 over to us... but that changed after the Lord of Thrones' declaration ten years ago."
"...More than ten other Behemoths have sent public support to the Behemoth of Relativity—money, weapons, men, and fleets. The Syndicate sent 200 more Law Dominators and ten thousand additional Nexus States. The Tyrant Interas sent 50 Law Dominators and 500 Nexus States, and completely banned us from using the Great Space Gate to head toward Middle Sector 89 or any sector beyond it to the east. One could say he confined us to Middle Sector 90 and above, and of course he began charging ten times the price of trips from it, even for those."
Then he continued, "The Council of Thrones sent 200 more Law Dominators, 15 thousand Nexus States, and an even greater number of World Calamities and weapons under the pretext of stopping the spread of evil. This is regardless of the volunteer lone fighters. The Millennial and Centennial Empires that want to earn a good reputation at our expense—all of them are sending support of men and weapons wearing their armor and raising their flags... Fighting against us has become somewhat of an honor."
Then he furrowed his brows, "This has caused the combined army in Middle Sector 89 to swell disproportionately. Our chance for any surprise attack is over, and now the Behemoth of Relativity and all the forces that supported him are afraid that we won't attack them... so they've begun thinking about taking the initiative themselves."
"They want to attack us in Middle Sector 90?!" Renara showed a shocked smile, "Have they gone mad?"
Middle Sector 90 was not an easy target.
All of Grafur, Arkail, and Aro's forces were present there, about 10,000 fleets with 1,500 Note's Fleets at the center as the heart of the giant squadron.
This was apart from the massive number of planetary offensive and defensive Arrays that the Shadow Swords had gathered through the dedicated purchasing network, or those manufactured in Nihari by the geniuses of the current generation… The Sector was currently a fortress, a fortress containing Arkail and Grafur.
And at the center of that fortress was Renara herself.
"What madness?" Grafur interjected, "The power gap between us and them has become tremendous, and it grows with each passing day. Even if we gathered all my sons and Arkail's sons and whatever Law Dominators the Horned One could bring by his method, we wouldn't gather enough to repel the 200 Law Dominators who came from the Council of Thrones alone. What about the rest? How will we fend them off?"
"I exist." Renara raised her head with pride.
"You have your own problems." Grafur waved and looked away impatiently.
"…?" Renara's eyes gleamed at this behavior.
"Lady Renara." Then Aro's voice came, "Unfortunately, Lord Grafur is right…" Then he spoke in a heavy voice, "Marlik the Butcher has been spotted in Middle Sector 89."
"Marlik has arrived?" Renara finally took the matter seriously.
