2443 - Cosmic Silence
"Damn it!" Facing the incoming beam, Theo didn't take any time to think.
He immediately brought out the Instant Space Gate and activated it *Bzzt* then jumped inside, leaving the filming equipment behind.
*Hoom*
The beam at that moment sank into the soil.
*Booooooom*
The desert planet immediately exploded from the inside, the planet's core couldn't withstand even a fraction of a second after the beam reached its center. All living beings on the planet could hear the Planet Spirit unleash its final scream before they joined it in eternal death.
"That annoying Gate!!" Helmor shouted in a low voice. Of course he noticed Theo jumping into it, so he began looking around, using his soul sense and the power of Rejection and everything he had to determine his new location.
The array of the Instant Space Gate was still restricted to Shadow Sword commanders and special mission holders, but recently everything was a special mission. Forced against their will, the gates began appearing more and becoming known to the higher-ups, especially with their repeated appearance in the Fast Support Vehicles!
Everyone knew it was one of Robin's inventions that he didn't allow to be sold, and they knew it was used for traveling to nearby planets only, within the limits of one solar system at most.
But regardless of the annoying Gate… Helmor's expression began to worsen further.
He had examined all the surrounding planets, but to no avail… he could not find him.
"How?!" Helmor shouted.
"Did I become transparent here?!" Zavarus's deep voice rang out, then *whoooosh* a thick purple flame attacked Helmor.
"Scram!" Helmor struck with both palms toward the flame, creating a shield of the Power of Destruction. That shield continued advancing through the fire, destroying and concealing it, until it reached near Zavarus's mouth and then exploded from the intensity of the pressure.
As for Helmor, he used those few seconds to fly swiftly toward the cluster of nearby planets and began searching more intensively, until he finally found a trace of the Law of Space on the back of one of the planets — of the type that remains stuck for a short period due to a Gate.
"…?" Helmor furrowed his white eyebrows tightly at these traces, examining them carefully.
He used his Soul sense and spread his energy and used everything he had to examine the planet, but he felt nothing unusual… The planet was almost empty of any living being, yet he could not find Theo. "What is happening here?"
*Doooom*
"Damn it!" Helmor felt a planetary force approaching him — it was Zavarus's massive tail.
Helmor immediately raised his palms, placing a barrier of destruction between them. *Craaack* One of Zavarus's scales cracked under the force, but Helmor was pushed back violently.
"Hmph!" While being pushed back, Helmor didn't forget to launch another beam toward the second planet. "Die this time!"
But he soon opened his eyes to find the other two.
*Bzzt* Near the location where he had felt the traces moments ago, an Instant Space Gate opened and then closed.
He felt something like a breeze passing through the Gate, but he saw or sensed no other detail.
"What exactly is this?!" Helmor completely ignored his battle with Zavarus and focused entirely on the remaining planets until he spotted a Gate opening on another nearby planet.
Immediately, taking the matter purely personally, Helmor tore through space and appeared on the surface of that planet directly in front of the Gate.
*Whooooooosh*
A terrifying force emanated from him and began spreading rapidly across the planet's surface.
Until finally he fixed his eye on a certain direction. "There." Then he took a step, extending his hand like a falcon's claw.
*Bzzt* In that direction, another Instant Space Gate opened.
But—
"Kkhgg!" Helmor's empty hand began making pained sounds at that moment.
Then someone slowly appeared in it… Theo. His neck was in Helmor's hand.
Helmor's hand was enveloped in destruction power and several large covers to force the nullification of all of Theo's Laws, not merely to catch him.
*Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar*
From above came a roar that shook the planet's cover and caused tremendous earthquakes on its surface; mountains collapsed and lakes exploded.
Zavarus's tremendous face was visible on the horizon, looking down while the planet's moon hung on one of his horns, and purple flame leaked from both sides of his mouth like a scene from the end of the world…
But Helmor paid no attention to that, even though he was in the direct line of fire; he knew Zavarus would not dare.
"…What exactly are you using?" Helmor looked at Theo from above, "Spacetime? No… these are not the properties of Spacetime." Then he stared directly into his eyes, "Merely the Fourth Level… what is lower than Spacetime and gives you this level of invisibility?"
"…." Theo showed a strange smile while suffering, "A Custom Integrated Law… for invisibility, of course… something only… my father could invent… of course… just because he wanted… to spoil me with it… heh… heh heh…"
"…." Helmor's expression sank; it was clear Theo meant to insult him, describing him as ignorant and powerless, "We'll see who gets spoiled after news of your death reaches him."
*Raaaaaawr–* Zavarus roared again, then opened his massive mouth in terror, "Don't do it, Helmor, don't do it, you can't bear the consequences, no one can bear the consequences!!"
"Consequences…" Helmor raised his head slightly with a defiant smile, "I want to see those consequences."
The energy of destruction around his hand began to shift from Revelation and Seal to true Destruction.
"…" When Theo felt this, when he felt his neck fading and his very existence sensing the approach of death, he simply closed his eyes.
He had done what he could in service of the father, and even if he went back in time, there was nothing to change or regret… He could leave in peace now.
But for some reason… somehow…
He heard a familiar voice:
"Leave the boy."
