2442 - Enemy Brothers
Middle Sector 108—
"….." On a planet devoid of life, on the back of a gray desert over which the light of a faint moon shone, Theo stood alone, beside him the imaging equipment that the Soul Society had recently begun selling.
But he did not use it to film anything, rather to bring the legendary scene located just a few planets away… to watch in silence, with furrowed brows and restrained expression.
The monitoring device now showed Theo a massive beast, a beast the size of a planet.
The beast was in the form of a huge dragon with four small limbs, its color dark purple, and every scale on its body the size of a human kingdom. Its thick, long whiskers were the size of seas, and its sharp eyes were like two moons shining with a terrifying crimson light.
The presence of that beast beside the planet only increased its dread. Its massive size qualified it to wrap around the planet one and a half times, and its aura alone had already begun destroying the planet's outer atmosphere unintentionally… That thing was the size of a massive young space beast approaching the title of adult space beast.
But its aura said it was stronger than that…
Yet there were scattered traces of wounds on its enormous body saying that it had fought a tremendous battle and suffered losses!
Before that monster, there was a point drifting in space, a point that could not be seen but only felt… a white-haired human.
Before that massive-bodied monster, Helmor the Destroyer stood firm, his hands behind his back, looking into the monster's eyes with strange calm…
"I salute your persistence, Zavarus. You have done justice to our old *enmity* by not falling quickly…" Helmor opened his mouth and his voice was heard across space, "But for how long?"
"I can ask you the same thing." A heavily gruff voice came from the monster's mouth without moving his jaws, "I can dance with you for more years if that is what you like, Helmor. I have not retreated from this Sector."
"…" Helmor raised his head slightly, some annoyance beginning to show on his face, "Does your useless army share the same opinion?"
"Grrr…" Zavarus, the massive monster, let out a faint growl but said nothing.
As for Theo, from afar, he sighed, "Heh~" and looked down wearily.
More than five years had passed since Helmor entered Middle Sector 108 with thirty of his sons.
When Helmor arrived, Zavarus was already spreading slaughter across the Sector. He and the First Tier of his sons had already besieged the Sons of Helmor stationed in the Sector, killed two of them, and caused the rest to flee.
The escape of the Sons of Helmor did not last long, as the local powers in Middle Sector 108 gathered, and before Zavarus could rejoice that they would fight on his side, they fought the people who had been destroying the Sector for years… They elected them as leaders and rose against Zavarus in a scene similar to what was happening with Hedrick in Middle Sector 113.
What he thought would be light work turned into a war against an entire Sector, and Zavarus began taking a defensive role and requested more support from the rear, from the subordinate powers or those affiliated with the Shadow Swords.
But a strange scene began to unfold… Three-quarters of those forces requested for support excused themselves from going.
Those not bound by a strong oath did not give explanations and simply refused; some even joined the alliance of the Sons of Helmor.
While those who had an oath with the Shadow Swords, or interests, or major scandals with them, knelt before the leaders of the Shadow Swords in secret and refused to go. They told them to imprison them or do whatever they wished, but they would not go.
Most of them stayed silent about the reason… But one of them spoke of documents that must never see the light of day, even if it cost him his life…
At that point, Theo was summoned to attend and judge the matter… and he only permitted them to retreat and provide support from the rear, for if those documents were to come out, implicating Lord Robin's followers who fight in his name, it would be a crushing blow to them as well, and the situation could not bear any more distortion.
Theo… of course knows about the documents, documents and contracts that make everything he holds over those people seem like child's play… he simply had not calculated that they would be used this quickly.
Immediately after, Helmor and a number of his sons arrived to lead the alliance, an alliance that the Syndicate had arranged for him on a silver platter… and a fierce attack began on Zavarus and the Savage Galaxy army.
Five years… this great war lasted five years. Zavarus used his immense power to prevent being forced to retreat, and forced his sons to transform and risk accelerating their permanent loss of humanity for a chance to stand against the Sons of Helmor, those mad with power… were it not for that, they would have been defeated in the first battle.
But that truly would not last forever…
Zavarus and all his sons are wounded, and his army is being bullied by the army of the united Sector. Every day more of his fleets fall, every day he grows weaker and weaker.
"Zavarus, we don't have to do this…" Helmor shook his head, "You may not know, but you must be here by my side, we are two sides of the same coin, we serve the same side, we seek the same result." Helmor spoke with a confident smile and wide eyes, "Nothing could drive us to fight here, not for Robin Burton!"
"I serve no one!" The massive dragon roared with a voice that shook the space around him, then glared at Helmor with ferocity and killing intent: "But those words of yours confirm what was told to me before… confirm what I was trying to convince myself wasn't real… Curse the one you serve, you filthy creature, and damn you all!"
"What was told to you?" Helmor ignored his insults and raised his eyebrows, "What exactly was told to you?"
"That I was unintentionally serving some—" Zavarus's deep voice was cut off mid-sentence and then fell completely silent, "….."
"…?" Helmor took a step forward and shouted with pressure, "Serving what? Continue speaking!!" Then he began looking around, "I felt that, did you receive a soul message? Someone telling you to be silent?"
Helmor began using all his methods until his eye landed on a certain direction, toward a dark sandy planet, and there he pointed with eyes wide open to their limits, "Theo, Leader of the Shadow Swords… Do you dare, you mortal, to interfere in my discussion?!"
*Hoooohm*
A dark beam shot from Helmor's finger toward the planet.
