2370 - The True War Lord
Two days later—Planet Uraginus—Mid Sector 100
When the invasion of the Sorcerer Galaxy and the Cursed Galaxy began, life here stopped just as it had everywhere else. Everyone abandoned everything and sat watching what was unfolding with bated breath.
Now, more than two days after the start of the assault operation, the universe was still watching with the same held breath...
But here, on Planet Uraginus, there was no room for rest.
"Move faster!"
"Did you bring the schematic you were asked for?"
"Heh heh heh, I'll bite your guts out today!!"
*Step* *Step*
Caesar walked past the hundreds of researchers from the Sky Opener city branch without turning toward them.
They weren't soldiers who knew how to conduct themselves in the Marshal's presence—some of them had never even seen him before. He didn't care about that. Their constant motion alone meant they understood the situation, and that was what mattered.
Caesar wore a fully golden armor covered in magnificent black patterns, with a black cape dragging on the ground behind him.
His height, which exceeded the average human male, his moderate build—neither bulky nor thin—his black beard covering his neck, and his oppressive, somber aura—all of this had a strange effect.
The researchers did not know who he was or did not notice his presence, yet there was a ring of 100 meters around Caesar completely empty of everyone; any researcher who approached Caesar would unconsciously move away outside that ring, not even realizing they were moving.
Until finally Caesar reached the point he wanted, and looked up.
*Bam* *Bam*
There stood the War Lord as a symbol of the Empire's destructive power, moving with light motions such as turning and taking side steps.
"Marshal." Klein, Jabba's Deputy and Third Level Truth Chosen, approached, "I'm glad you arrived quickly." Then he pointed to the War Lord, "We made a new adjustment to the Array after advice from City Lord Jabba, please take a look."
"....." Caesar stared at the War Lord with a expressionless face for a full minute, "Smoother movements, it will last longer on the battlefield, but..." Then he turned toward Klein, "Was that all Jabba directed?"
"Actually no, I added the fastest and easiest adjustment among them, and this was the result." Klein rubbed his head.
"Fastest and easiest?" Caesar showed a meaningful smile, "Klein, do you want to go on a quick and easy adventure with the Imperial Guard?"
"No!" Klein replied firmly. "You said you needed War Lords quickly, so I did my best to minimize the system's issues. If you want a War Lord without any problems, you'll have to wait longer!"
"Why wait?!" Caesar raised his voice slightly. "Jabba gave you the Keys, and we have massive vaults stocked with everything you need. And if you can't find what you need, we have the largest dedicated network to secure whatever we want—I'll have it brought to you immediately through the Great Space Gates."
"Marshal, Lord Jabba gave me advice, not ready-made designs. I ask that you understand this point." Klein tried to explain in a low voice.
"..." Caesar stared into his eyes for a moment, then turned back around. "Lily, anything new?"
Directly behind Caesar stood a stunningly beautiful girl with curly golden hair. At that moment, she was watching two different scenes on miniature light screens linked to her wrist.
Hearing her name, Lily raised her round head to look at Caesar. "Yes, Marshal. Our forces have reached the final quarter in both galaxies, and a systematic sweep is being carried out at this moment."
"…" Caesar began rubbing between his eyes, "After she finishes with Zargul and polish part of the galaxy, she'll come for just a few hours to help us and then leave…" Then he gradually raised his voice, "How is she supposed to help us if we haven't even started the war in the first place?!"
Then he pointed toward the War Lord, "Without him, I cannot start a war against four Millennium Empires besides the Seven Thrones Empire—a catastrophe will befall us before Renara even arrives!!"
"Hmm… Can't we try pressuring them to join us without fighting?" The Truth Chosen pointed toward the battles raging on the girl's wrist.
"Klein," Caesar took a step forward and stared directly into the eyes of the person before him, "Don't meddle in what doesn't concern you." Then he gestured toward the War Lord, "That thing must end… quickly."
"…Understood." Klein sighed, then walked away rubbing his forehead.
And Caesar wasn't in a better mood either…
Talk to them about joining him? He had tried. Even the Seven Thrones Empire, who had only a single planet left, was setting impossible conditions—even after seeing the new Renara!
Every one of those ancient powers refused to accept that what they had built over millions of years would belong to someone else, refused to believe that instead of them kneeling to him, he would have to kneel to them.
They are now running from room to room, trying to find any solution to escape the deadlock, and certainly, the option of cooperating with the Syndicate is wide open!
Can they be tamed with words? Perhaps.
But the True Beginning Empire, with all its branches, does not possess a single person capable of completing a negotiation of this scale.
"Lily." Caesar muttered at last.
"Yes, Marshal?" The girl replied quickly.
"…." Caesar looked into the distance, "Prepare the Scythe of Stillness for me—there is no longer any reason to keep it aside; it is time for it to accompany me into The War." Then he sighed, "And sound the alarm… we can no longer afford to wait."
"At once." The girl nodded, "And what about you, Marshal? Would you like me to arrange a specific destination for you?"
"No," Caesar walked in a certain direction, "I will go check on the two Distra sibilings one last time before heading off to battle." Then he smiled as he strolled, "I would have wished for this period of peace to last longer so I could continue examining them daily, but… I suppose staying without war for a few years gives you an itch, Old Man."
