2411 - Tense Stability
Middle Sector 107—
Inside a massive water planet, containing only a small number of narrow islands, while colossal sea beasts could be seen roaming the sea surface without breaking the water's tension... There was a person sitting comfortably on one of those islands, watching his surroundings with a smile.
Then, *whoosh*, a person appeared beside him wearing an entirely black robe and a black mask... It was a Shadow Sword. Shadow Sword then bowed beside the massive-framed Behemoth and extended both hands, upon which lay a small card.
"..." Zavarus reached out his hand to the small metal card and pulled it, then infused his soul sense into it, "...Hahaha!" Then he tossed the card aside and began slapping his seat forcefully, "Haaaaaahahahaha!!"
It turned out that the confrontation the Universe had been anticipating this morning had ended in a strange, dramatic fashion.
The famous Foreign Affairs Advisor of Lord Robin appeared and presented a proposal that satisfied everyone, requesting to speak with Grafour privately, and that the Syndicate Administrator speak with Arkail privately, so that perhaps the problem could be resolved without bloodshed.
The result was astonishing.
Arkail attacked the Syndicate Administrator only five minutes after the meeting, having grown tired of hearing provocative threats, and a fierce battle erupted between them. The Syndicate's forces and the Temporal's forces also clashed, with fire reaching the horizon in every direction.
Yet Grafour's majestic Fleet remained completely still, not intervening even under the Syndicate Administrator's orders—they were waiting for their Lord's command.
And indeed, about an hour after the battle began, Grafour reappeared with a serious expression on his face...
And ordered his army to strike the Syndicate's forces from behind.
The Syndicate's forces, already struggling against Arkail's Squadron and the siege of his sons, did not survive that blow—the damage was far too great to be remedied.
As for the only spot where the scales were somewhat balanced—the Administrator against Arkail—Grafour went and attacked the Syndicate Administrator as well, turning the battle into a two-on-one.
The Syndicate Administrator displayed tremendous power, equal to that shown by Helmor's sons if not slightly greater, but Arkail also displayed the power of the Path of Time perfectly, with a perfection that exceeded expectations. Grafour was an excellent aid to him from the side... So the Administrator fled after a number of exchanges, and with him fled those who remained alive among the Syndicate Dominators.
The Syndicate's army found itself between the two millstones, being ground relentlessly between the forces of the two Behemoths. The outcome was sealed—half the squadron was destroyed while the other half managed to slip away... about 1,500 fleets all fled in different directions, some into Sector 93 and others breaching the Buffer Zone toward Middle Sector 92.
But the incursion of these forces into Lord Robin's territory is nothing to fear.
Grafour's and The Temporal's forces will pursue those who headed into Middle Sector 93 and eliminate them sooner or later.
As for those who entered Middle Sector 92? Those are in a worse situation.
Crossing the Buffer Zone requires a massive amount of fuel and supplies, and Grafour made sure that not a single one of those ships possessed that kind of supply before coming—he didn't want to get embroiled in a battle only to find the Syndicate's forces fleeing and leaving him behind.
In a way, that decision protected him now... for about 800 fleets of the hasty ones who headed toward Middle Sector 92 will never come out the other side.
"So the friends have increased by one, and Lord Robin's territories have now officially expanded to reach Middle Sector 92." Zavarus nodded, "This is most delightful." Then he smiled and raised his head slightly, "...and enviable."
Compared to the eastern front, which was expanding steadily and stably, their western front faced a major obstacle... the obstacle of Helmor the Destroyer.
After that day when Hedrick revealed his true power, Helmor retreated to occupy only half of the Kiryān galaxy and began preparing for a full-scale invasion, just as Hedrick had done, breaking through toward the heart of the galaxy in one push... but that did not last.
The reinforcements of Lord Robin's followers did not stop either.
Special forces from the Galaxy of Purity and from all the Millennial Empires loyal to Lord Robin arrived, along with ten Dominators from the Galaxy of the Savage Behemoth... dozens of Dominators entered the arena, led by the two heads of chaos, Omis and Omira, supported by 70 Royal Soul Masters from the Burton Family.
Five hundred new Note fleets arrived, with the veteran Admiral Alexander as their overall commander.
And after the galaxy had been fortified with a number of Defensive Arrays, a number of offensive Arrays arrived as well!
Helmor soon discovered that the preparation period he had been relying on to end the war had indeed come to an end, but in favor of the other side... so he was forced to retreat once again.
Anyone else would have retreated toward the first quarter of the galaxy and recalculated, but Helmor realized that with this amount of support, he wouldn't be able to advance without his army either. If he retreated, he'd be giving Kiryān and his overwhelming support room to advance again... forcing him to retreat once more.
He chose to evacuate Sector 115 entirely... everyone who saw him at the Great Space Gate spoke of a silent rage that nearly burned the space around him.
But he didn't go far. Helmor headed toward Middle 114, concentrated his sons there, and began summoning his real army to assemble, preparing for a true invasion mission this time—one that would topple the Conqueror's galaxy and the entire sector with everyone in it...
But this focus on the Kiryān front caused a small problem.
Zavarus exploited the situation and destroyed all of the Destroyer's strongholds in Sector 106, driving his sons out of there, then advanced toward Middle 107 with his full army!
While Helmor was facing the west... Zavarus was coming at him from the east, crawling slowly, threatening everything he had ever built.
Faced with that advance, Helmor ordered a third of his army and a number of Second Tier Children to be sent toward Middle 108 and concentrated there—not for use or expansion, but for a single purpose: stopping Zavarus from advancing further so he could focus on Kiryān.
And indeed...
In this way, Zavarus tightened his grip on Middle 107 as well… then he stopped.
